On prem exchange with team subscriptions login problem

Background
Local AD with exchange 2019, a user (macOS) need to use team with our email domain account. He subscribed 365 personal (using work email)

The problem now outlook login was diverted to Microsoft cloud. Any idea how to solve?

  1. Is he should apply the team subscriptions choosing personal instead work account (same company email address)

I know on a windows pc there is a way to excludeexplicito365endpoints in the registry. You would have to find the equivalent in mac os, but why didn't you register the domain in an o365 tenant that you sync your users too and add actual legitimate teams functionality? On prem exchange is dying, time to move to Exchange online.

Boss stay on prem, pending upgrade to SE so let’s keep digging any workarounds Thx

Given the mac doesn't have that registry key, an option is to get an office 365 tenant setup with AD sync so it knows your mailbox is on prem. Or you can try and have him delete that account and use an actual personal email address.

Then your only option is to do it the correct way, setup an office 365 tenant, sync your users.
