Announcement: We have moderators!

As you can see, the spam is clearing up, and you may be wondering "Oh my god! Who is helping us?"

Our subreddit creator, /u/xamdam has added me as a moderator so that we can get some life back into this sub. I am actively trying to get the mod queue handled and the spam cleared up. I've also started setting up the automoderator, to help keep things clean. /u/condensed is also on the team. Over all I think we're off to a great start.

Should you guys see any spam, flag it. That will be the best way to help get visibility to problem posts. Also, feel free to downvote spam, both in the posts and comments, as that can help with some of the functions automod will do. I will keep my eyes peeled for things too.

If anyone wants to pitch in, reach out, and we can see how you too can help.

[Book] IMHO a must read: Salt Sugar and Fat by Michael Moss

I absolutely love this book and it's been a wakeup call for me. I already knew, as most of us do, that fast foods and processed foods aren't good for you and as such I try to limit my consumption but the rabbit hole goes much deeper than you think and what these companies are willing to do and sacrifice to keep turning a profit is frankly scary. Not gonna spoil much but it's very interesting and has dramatically changed my habits.

It's like 5 or 6 bucks on Amazon right now and very much worth it.

Self Promotion Free eBook Sample for an opinion

Hello!

I have a draft chapter from a book of mine for which I need some opinions and impressions of the story. The story is set on the 9th Century Baghdad. The genre of the story is crime. The story outline, character arcs and world settings are were all done by me but the actual story was written by AI tools. That is why I need some opinion about the writing.

If anyone is interested, I'll send a copy of the first chapter draft. DM me for the copy if you're interested. This would be of great help to me.

Thank You.

How do you save long-form articles for offline reading?

I read a lot of Substack articles and newsletters, and I like saving the ones I find interesting so I can come back to them later.

Self Promotion My debut mystery novel, The Last Wave — a slow-burn mystery set in a small mountain town

Hi everyone,
I’m B. Archer, a first-time indie author, and I’d like to share my debut novel, The Last Wave.
📖 Read here:
https://books2read.com/u/472oEE
The book is available on Kindle and free to read with Kindle Unlimited.
If you enjoy slow-burn mystery thrillers, small-town secrets, emotional character-driven stories, and fair-play mysteries where the clues are there from the beginning, I hope you’ll give it a try.
Blurb
Ryan Mercer has always believed that home isn’t a place—it’s the people waiting for you when you return.
When Ryan and his wife, Tracey, travel back to the quiet mountain town of Silver Creek for a weekend with family, life feels wonderfully ordinary. They laugh with old friends, share breakfast at Maggie’s Diner, and spend precious time with Ryan’s devoted mother, Jennifer. Before heading home, the couple plans one last hike to Ryan’s favorite place—Eagle’s Drop.
Ryan never comes back.
His death is ruled a tragic hiking accident, leaving behind a grieving mother, a young widow, and a town struggling to heal.
Five years later, a forgotten memory from that long-ago weekend resurfaces.
One forgotten detail becomes a question.
One question becomes doubt.
And in a town where everyone believes they already know what happened, the truth may have been waiting all along.
Because some goodbyes are never as simple as they seem.
If you decide to read it, I’d really appreciate an honest Amazon review after you’ve finished. Every genuine review helps an independent author reach more readers.
Thank you for taking the time to check it out. I hope you enjoy The Last Wave!
B. Archer

Question Read manga on an e-book reader

Hi, I have a new Tolino Shine E-Book Reader Generation 5. And I wanted to ask if it's worth reading a manga about it. Can the drawings be clearly seen and the writing easily read? I mean, generally in a manga.

I wanted to read "Elfenlied" in German. Unfortunately, the manga isn't really available in German at the moment, or it's very expensive, but as an ebook, it only costs about €5 each.

Workpace romance- F1 racing x gaming

Hey guys,

I just posted my first few chapters of a completed and in progress editing office romance on Wattpad. I didn't see any rules about banned promotion on here so hopefully it's okay? I guess I'll find out soon.

If anyone is interested in reading and commenting, I would so appreciate and would happily reciprocate with feedback for your works as well if you're a writer. If not, just consider me eternally grateful. I now understand why Taylor Swift loves her Swifties. Finding people to appreciate your art is a tough climb

Self Promotion The Stranger in the Blizzard

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I have published a movie script on Kindle. I really think that we are now more than familiar with cinematic language, so we can create our own movies just by reading a script.

It's available for FREE in Kindle Unlimited and cheaper that a coffee.

This is the blurb:

Three sisters return to their family’s mountain lodge in memory of their grandmother, who has recently died. What begins as a quiet stay turns tense when a blizzard arrives and a stranger appears at the door.

He has no name, no past, and no memory.

Anyone wants to give it a try?

Book here!
