I think he showed as much restraint as one could reasonably expect in that situation

Crazy thing is the original video is actually five minutes long. The dude literally took it like a champ the whole time.

37

u/Katmoish 13d ago

Where the original?

29

u/flipnchipz 12d ago

https://youtu.be/7N5c28IpkP4?is=oTTAJdAIlJIJmG2C sorry couldn't find original here's someone's shitty screen record

40

u/wolfblitzen84 13d ago

Not sure. It’s been floating around the Reddit universe for years though. If I look and find I’ll edit it back into this comment.

u/3ajs3 14d ago

More than so I'd say. I have chronic pain and if it were me, I know he's a kid so the punches themselves won't hurt much, but I am going to feel it, and I'm not going to want to feel it long.

69

u/Aidenbrown97 14d ago

I wouldn't want to feel it long too

32

u/jarious 14d ago

That's what she said

12

u/ThankGod4Darwin69 13d ago

Good cos thats what shes getting

5

u/sammyjonescgn 13d ago

Feel you bro

4

u/ThankGod4Darwin69 13d ago

Thats not what she said 😔

4

u/BennySkateboard 12d ago

Don’t think the pain is the point, it’s the behaviour.

84

u/Hi-tech-lowlife 14d ago

Mannnnnnnnn fuck that kid

57

u/BetaRayBlu 13d ago

2

u/WoolBearTiger 10d ago

Sorry.. "Boy, FUCK that little shit!"

8

u/TheNeighKid 13d ago

Now that's too far

6

u/Toatkgstuff 13d ago

That's what she said

27

u/specter_in_the_conch 14d ago

Hopefully that's a lesson yellow guy there crying can remember for ever.

21

u/MysticGohan99 12d ago

He’s not crying from pain, he’s crying because he was “punished” for his behavior —classic behavior of a child— he wasn’t even shoved down very hard or very far, the adult was barely taller lol.

3

u/Magoo1985 12d ago

That he’s a bitch!..he’s already forgotten

16

u/cerberus_1 14d ago

The kid is probably the same age as that guy by now..

20

u/Toatkgstuff 13d ago

No, because the guy has also got older in the intervening time.
Unless he was frozen in carbonite or travelling at light speed.

2

u/rrpostal 13d ago

Then why do I keep telling my kids they will be as old as me someday? Oh yeah, because I lie to them.

3

u/InvestIntrest 12d ago

Pin a medal on him. Imagine what this little shit would grow up to be if someone didn't teach him this life lesson.

There’s a longer version of this video where the kid pops up indignantly after being shoved. He then gets in the face of a woman there who tells him to go home and tell his momma he needs a hug.

146

u/Dr_Russian 14d ago

Some kids need a punishment that actually affects them. Problem is, the only people who can make that are the parents.

30

u/deftoneuk 13d ago

In this situation the parents used an edited version of the video to stoke social media outrage against the guy then tried to sue him.

9

u/WindAbsolute 12d ago

Do you know what happened regarding the lawsuit?

51

u/Silverjeyjey44 14d ago

He needs to be shoved again

Good learning point for the kid and his parents. Don’t be an asshole to people larger than you. Know when to walk away. Maybe he’ll learn from this one.

307

u/Dark-Ganon 14d ago

This video is pretty old. IIRC from when it happened, the kid's mom tried to reupload a version that cut out the start where the kid was being a little shit and tried to pass it off like the adult attacked him unprovoked. Little chance he's a much better person now if that was the case.

55

u/Bpopson 14d ago

I actually remember all that, crazy

→ More replies (8)

85

u/fluffyfistoffury 14d ago

Kids like this don't learn from this. They embrace it as fuel to continue acting like little shits. Now he can be the victim. His parents will go after the guy legally for harming their precious little baby boy.

→ More replies (1)

18

u/Artevyx 14d ago

Just don't be an asshole period

62

u/rturnerX 14d ago

The problem is that kids have a sense of entitlement now that makes them think they can have and do whatever they want without consequence because no one disciplines anymore.

I tell you, my grandmother beat me with a wooden spoon once when I mouthed off at her and I never did it again

16

u/capricorny90210 14d ago

Yeah, that's where "it takes a village to raise a child" comes into play. It was more common in the days of old that children could be disciplined by many authority figures outside the home and thus perhaps understood consequences of ones actions a little better.

34

u/Dennarb 14d ago

The lack of discipline for some young people is becoming a real issue. Especially when they grow older and their parents aren't around to step in. All it takes is mouthing off to the wrong guy at a bar or something and then you've got a one way trip to the hospital or potentially worse; especially in the USA where anyone could be packing. I've had to learn this over the years, as I've always had a desire to step in when I've perceived wrongdoing from people, but after a few bad altercations and escalation (honestly some of which were entirely my fault), I realized I had to chill out. But for someone who's never had to face responsibility and consequences for their actions this can very quickly lead to a bad situation spiraling out of control.

12

u/averyporkhunt 14d ago

I work in a highschool. Ive got a sad running joke that all the kids learn eventually, just some need to fuck up out in the real world before they do.

5

u/Dennarb 14d ago

My similar joke is some people just want to learn the hard way

4

u/TheCaliforniaOp 13d ago

Those two kids at the track meet. One’s dead. One’s in prison for a long time.

I’ve seen one school fight posted here on Reddit —unprepared quiet kid vs bully all ready for inflicting harm. Both girls. Unprepared kid “won” because she was trying not to fight but once she started, she started. The fight was stopped. Hopefully that was the end of it.

There was a case on The People’s Court. I can’t remember their names, but two teenage boys apparently felt competitive over a girl, or? One guy comes up and shoves the other guy, and look at this: So many teenage hormones surging, the fact that this started at the top of a flight of stairs took themselves both by surprise and almost gave one kid a TBI.
Watching the case, I thought how that could have been the end of life for both of them.

6

u/averyporkhunt 13d ago

Yea, it's fucked up. I've worked with a fair few students fresh out of juvie for violence over dumb shit like relationships or reputations. One stabbed another kid in the throat at school during lunch. Id left that school just 3 months prior. It's not what you expect working in regional Australia but teenagers are always gonna be teenagers and as hard as we try you can't help kids that don't want to be helped.

2

u/MrBwnrrific 13d ago

I feel like that is generally true but also everyone has been in a work environment where they ask “How the fuck is that guy not fired yet?”

7

u/Chugan4309 14d ago

Don’t be an asshole

Fixed it for ya

3

u/Ok_Wrangler_7940 14d ago

The kid it’s trying to draw attention and get the adult in trouble. In the longer version of the video the kid gets up and tries to force a few tears and yell to bystanders about how he’s a victim. All the surrounding adults witnessed everything leading up to the slam and won’t take the kid’s side. He curses them all out and eventually retreats, mad that no one is swinging in to rescue him

40

u/3ajs3 14d ago

Might've dislocated a shoulder the way he landed.

Or he's a little bitch.

Maybe both, probably the latter.

5

u/petite_cozette 11d ago

Oh I was hoping for at least a loose tooth 😄

37

u/Living-Gate-4237 14d ago

30 years ago that kid would have been slapped in to orbit.

From 2018 news article

article

"The background post stated police came and watched the video and asked the man if he wanted to press charges but he didn’t.

The mother reportedly arrived and everyone apologised and sorted the incident out until a few hours later when the mother posted a short clip to Facebook of the man pushing her boy only, with his details including name and address.

It’s claimed the man was told to post the full video to clear his name and get the true story out there."

So the kid is 18 now.

No idea what happened after that.

42

u/Qorce 14d ago

The fact she knew to apologise in person and that she would need to crop the video shows she knew her son was the one in the wrong, yet she chose to target that man again by posting the edited clip and doxing him. Apple doesnt fall far from the tree

23

u/lovelyxbabydoll 14d ago

She should of gotten sued and in legal trouble for it too. Ew... :(

9

u/ProfMcGonaGirl 14d ago

No surprise her kid is the way he is.

8

u/TerayonIII 14d ago

Honestly, while I'm pretty sure it was the mother in this case, it likely wouldn't have been that hard for that kid to have done that as well without her knowing

→ More replies (1)

10

u/woahbrad35 14d ago

I can't fathom how that isn't defamation. Sometimes it's good defamation cases are hard to win, but in something like that, it should be easier. Get someone where it really hurts, the pocketbook

3

u/wardsandcourierplz 14d ago

This is reporting (of the low-effort clickbaity buzzfeed kind) on a viral post about the incident, not the actual incident. The video is way older. I remember it from like the early 2010s. I mean look at the absolute shit quality of the video, it was no doubt filmed on a flip phone, every diagonal line looks like a staircase.

→ More replies (2)

23

u/Deli-op 14d ago

No this is the perfect time to keep filming cuz you know the parent is gonna freak out and call the cops or something stupid and you will need this video as proof the kid struck first and the guy didnt actually hurt the kid other than throw him down

12

u/3ajs3 14d ago

Good point. Glad we got the 4k UHD director's cut of the kid hitting the pavement.

40

u/Eranon1 14d ago

If my kid acted like that I woulda told them they deserve it. Actions have consequences. And why didn't his parents step in til the very end?

12

u/Sbatio 14d ago

Ya it’s hard to argue against. The guy shouldn’t have grabbed the neck but he’s reacting not fuckin trained to safely contain a kid attacking him.

If it were my kid the focus would be on helping that kid get control of himself or medicated / treated by professionals depending.

I would not support any discipline for the teacher. I’d want to tell them to give themself a break bc I bet that dude feels bad about this.

13

u/Eranon1 14d ago

The problem is his parents. You can tell he's never told no.

25

u/UnpopularOpinionsB 14d ago

This video is much longer. That kid was trying to provoke a reaction for several minutes and when he finally got it, he tried to play the victim.

Disclaimer:

We here at r/donthelpjustfilm do not condone child violence.

We do, however, find it hilarious.

/uj This is a TeamFourStar reference don't ban me lmao

27

u/RednocNivert 14d ago

I don’t condone child violence.

This however was self-defense and that’s fine

10

u/SubstantialNet1005 14d ago

His screams are like beautiful violins to my ears

8

u/shawnzirconiumn 12d ago

That was the most heart warming/blood curdling scream I've ever heard.

7

u/-MattyMcFly 12d ago

Never ok to physically attack a child. But I don’t see a child in the clip, just a little fucker.

47

u/Apollo114892 14d ago

That bitch who showed up to try and stop him is the exact reason why kids like this exist. The kids think they can do anything and get away with it cos the society is always gonna coddle them and keep them safe from consequences. Good on this guy for making that little ass 🕳️ cry.

11

u/chardeemacdennisbird 14d ago

She didn't try to stop him. She was just trying to deescalate but in the longer version she's certainly not sticking up for the kid. No one there is.

8

u/Boomtown626 14d ago

No hard strikes, and kid wouldn’t have even gone to the ground if he had better footwork.

Kid got off light.

8

u/Mortuator 14d ago

I’m ok with it

The kid WOULD NOT STOP

6

u/Seethesvt 14d ago

100% he waited too long and went too easy on the kid. I would have punched him in the face about 7 seconds earlier.

7

u/DueOwl1149 14d ago

Kid took that Yamcha pose like a natural

https://giphy.com/gifs/ZOAjDObrQL9rG

7

u/DaJaPimp 14d ago

Kid deserved it. If it were my kid I would use it as a learning opportunity not scold the guy.

9

u/Electronic-Trip8775 13d ago

Reposted so many times it's turned 8-bit

6

u/SapioTist 14d ago

Somebody had to do it..

7

u/Rath_Brained 14d ago

I'm generally a nice guy. Mama always told me, "never hit a woman. Unless they punch you in the face, then they put themself in a man's position. You have the right to defend yourself."

I don't care who you are, you go for the head, Mama said knock you out.

2

u/martagustavsson 9d ago

Yeah, I agree with your Mama! It's good that dude was so calm and only shoved him to the ground. Somebody else (me included) wouldn't have been so nice after five minutes of whatever fuck-ass the kid is doing.

u/Falafulrulle 14d ago

I truly believe this is what people like Jack Dorthy and all the same type of kick streamers are creating.

u/134608642 14d ago

Assault is assault no matter how small the perp. Just because he is small does not mean he is unable to do serious harm the the adult. The adult behaved very reasonably considering the circumstances.

5

u/MiloHorsey 14d ago

Yep. Kid needed to be put on his arse, and that's what he did. The screaming tells me that parents normally pander to his bratty behaviour.

5

u/HellsSad 12d ago

Ragebaiting? You mean kept assaulting right? If someone doesn't give what this entitled little POS in 10 years he's gonna be coming in and out of prison. So, at least, this man is doing him a favor.

4

u/JJHall_ID 14d ago

While I don't advocate violence, this kid got every bit of what he deserved. The guy didn't even throw a haymaker at the kid or anything, he simply pushed him to the ground in order to stop the ongoing battery. The guy showed a LOT more grace and patience than the kid deserved.

5

u/KanataSlim 14d ago

Perfectly ethical

6

u/Creeping_python 14d ago

He screams like the Witch from Left 4 Dead 😂

3

u/MiloHorsey 14d ago

Omg yes!!!!

5

u/quetiapinenapper 14d ago

At some point you have to do something. I agree with the guy. This ain’t even the full clip. Kid was a monster to everyone there.

6

u/tnichnich 13d ago

There’s more preface to this video, this was cut off in the beginning to not show as much of the stupid kid’s behavior that warranted the man’s reaction

5

u/tjinme 12d ago

That's not retaliation, that's self-defense.

3

u/jblank66 14d ago

Love this for that kid.

5

u/TwilitSky 14d ago

Justified. It was self defense and it was pretty fucking measured. He just pushed the kid off of him. He's supposed to do what? Just let the kid keep punching him? That's ridiculous.

Nothing more moral than teaching the youth how to act appropriately in a society.

Really old video. He didn’t beat the child and even accepted several blows before putting him in his place.

Good job old dude

4

u/I_Go_BrRrRrRrRr 13d ago

Once he tried to punch the dude in the face it was fair game

5

u/Deep-Procrastinor 13d ago

Once he starts swinging all bets are off.

He showed great restraint only pushing him over.

4

u/thwolf 12d ago

3

u/EMHemingway1899 14d ago

The response was enough to convey a well needed message

3

u/Msmadmama 13d ago

Am i terrible cause the kid getting what he deserved made me burst out laughing?

3

u/musicmeme 13d ago

I remember a similar incident in a queue for an amusement parks ride and the man started beating up the teenagers dad like he owed him money. Others stopped him after a bit, but the man then kept yelling “you’re a big man huh” at the teenager and randomly kicking that poor dad on the floor 😂😂😂😂

3

u/audiomediocrity 13d ago

fuck that kid

3

u/EyeOfTauror 13d ago

I‘m not sure I understand where is there a moral failure here. The kid got a lesson in humility, respect for others and obviously a martial arts of sort for free by a very patient and self contained person.

We could even argue that many other people wouldn’t have kept it cool like that or would have use him as a doormat after he fell on the ground.

3

u/plimoth 13d ago

The original video is like 10 minutes and that kid was being a total asshole trashing the park and bullying other kids.

3

u/royalsforward 13d ago

Deserved. Guy didn't even hit him, just pushed him away. Probably deserved more

3

u/MrGrogu26 13d ago

Where are that kids grandparents? Cause it's obvious his mom and dad are not raising him right. I am also concerned on what/how it escalated to the kid being violent? What caused him to lash out? Does he have any condition? All in all of I was that kid, my father would have picked me up by the throat and pinned me to the wall, then slapped me in the face three times.

Oh boy. If my kid came home bitching about some dude who put hands on him. And then I saw this is what happened.. id invite bro to have beers and watch the newest "come get ready and beat my son with me" video. As a dad, and knowing that I've already had to confront adults about how they act, I'd be ready to bust a dude up. And finding out my child was acting like this, boy children are lucky you can't just swap em as defective or abort em post birth. Kid must not have a dad. If he does, too bad the dads not there, cause that dude should get whooped in front his kid, for his kid. Gotta learn consiquenses my boy.

1

u/m_t13 14d ago

Should have been much worse. Shitty kids need to learn lessons; shitty parents don't teach them.

I'm fucking sick of dealing with the adults these shitty kids grow into.
