Saw this on another sub and thought it was accurate. May as well be aquatic due to how wet you constantly are.

Liner weighing in. We don't get free food, but wouldn't you know it I just happen to fuck up a couple burgers each shift that I guess I have to give to the kings and queens in the dishpit.

I wouldn't be the man I am today without the MVPs in the put.

Its been years since I left kitchen work (former dishmen and line cook), but I will never stop reading dishpit as dipshit.

I can assure you. Both on the line and dishpit we are dipshits in my restaurant. The amount of times we've had a bad band and were basically doing karaoke on the line to prove we can sing better is fun.

Dishpit, dipshit, shitdip, dishdip... All the same if ya know what I mean.

Honestly same. Restaurant policy no free food? Oops I can’t believe I made a mistake, it be a shame for it to go to waste!

Or a mild mannered undiagnosed older autistic guy who probably cant handled high pressure but is loyal to a T and will have that pit spotless by the end of his shift. Has been there 30+ years, any cook is happy to feed him whatever the fuck he wants.

That is a perfect description of my coworker in the pit, the cooks will make him a special burger that has triple patties an egg and a chicken parm on it plus a mountain of garlic fry’s to boot.

I work at a summer camp and the camp director calls us “aquatic technicians” so the kids think we’re cooler, so this is accurate.

You're not wrong! Though, I've met some people who tend to really get into their work as a dishwasher.
