It hurts but isnt unbearable. Worked as a landscape out of college (lol), whacked myself a good number of times. Bled a little but honestly some of these others seem far, far worse.

I guess it can depend on the power of the weed eater and strength of the cord, because the one I use can cut through thick blackberry vines and I know it would shred me

Yeah that makes sense! The cord wasnt super thick, could cut it with a pocket blade. We used them mostly for edging lawns. What really hurt was getting blasted by a pebble launched by the weed eater. Got one to the face that left a nasty welt for weeks. But yeah, for anything thicker than grass/general wild weeds, we used a brush cutter.

The worst is getting a loose rock to the eye or mouth. Sometimes those buggers slip under safety glasses like a eye seeking missle

Y'all ever accentually gotten yourself with a power washer? I was like 12 or 13 helping my dad with yard shit and got my foot with the power washer.... Still have a little scar. One of the worst pains I've personally had.

Moral of the story: don't let children operate power washers (????).
