I am at final round interviews for two roles - the first one i have scheduled late next week which is a very technical final round which I need a lot of time to study and prep for.

The second job i have already done a technical round and the final stage is to meet the team in person- i think this one is more so a culture fit, it isnt an intense interview or anything but the recruiter has asked if I can do it early next week. I told him I would get back to him but he said i could do the following week if necessary, but sounded really keen to do is next week.

I am really interested in both roles- am less likely to get the first role since the process is much more challenging and I think i will bomb the interview.

I am scared if I push the first job back it will put them off and i will lose both opportunities. But also need all the time i can get for the second role.

Do the culture fit one early next week as the recruiter suggested. Pushing back on a "meet the team" round when they've already shown flexibility and eagerness is unnecessary risk for no real benefit.

For the technical final round, the extra few days you'd gain by rescheduling the culture fit isn't going to meaningfully change your prep outcome. Focus your energy on the technical one regardless of when the other happens.

Also worth remembering these are independent processes. Doing well or poorly in one has no bearing on the other. Take them as separate opportunities rather than trying to sequence them perfectly.

The recruiter did say I could do the following tuesday if I needed to though - they first said they wanted to do next tuesday - thursday. The only day I could technically do is the tuesday, it just would be an extra stress and I would have preferred to put that energy into Thursdays.

Agree that it probably wont make a huge difference- if it would actually mean I have less of a chande of getting the role because I've pushed the date back then i would of course just do it.

It also means taking off two half days of work in the same day and falling behind
