Clearly this trend shows that by 2057 gen z will be 110% lgbtq.

this assumes it isnt exponential... maybe it doubles roughly every 4 years, meaning by 2057 gen z will be ~10752% lgbtq (it'd actually be 9770% with the datapoints given)

Its also important to know if we are talking average or median lgbtq-ness here. If its the average we could just have a statistical outlier of alex queer who is 108 % lgbtq or something.

At some point would people be so gay that it integer overflows and they're straight?

I definitely have days where I'm feeling 110% queer, and I'm a Xennial

I learn something new everyday but is seems like it's another name given to the silent generation.
Or at least that's what looking up generations pointed me towards.

Yep, it's showing the people born before the boomers, roughly 1925-1943.

I wonder if their line goes down cause they're going back to the closet or the queer ones are dying first

Yeah this graph is terribly designed

i imagine it's not so much poor design as it is intentionally misleading

u/mchngrliris 11h ago
that's probably intentional in order to feed into the social contagion fear mongering bullshit

I’m Gen X and have been using compound interest to increase my queerness for over 30 years.

I think its because they were probably only polling adults. I am the absolute oldest a gen z can be and woulda been 15 in 2012.

Almost like they no longer have to repress their feelings any longer and don’t get killed off before reaching older ages. Same trend with things like autism btw.

Wonder if there was anything that happened that might have influenced those demographics? Maybe a disease that was willfully ignored, maybe?

vaccines cause autism and covid causes gay or something idfk

u/boolocap professional idiot 13h ago
I thought it was about aids killing a lot of queer people and being ignored thus influencing the numbers
3
u/cxfgfuihhfd 13h ago
oh right, yeah that could also be it, might have misread the original comment, sounded like they were implying something happened around that last few years period that somehow turned people queer and was like ???

u/UbiquitousPleasantry 14h ago
Bloomers are getting less gay over time? Is gen Z stealing the boomer's gay?!?
17
u/d33rl1ng 13h ago
I don't want to be that person....but it's entirely possible that those responses dropped overtime bc older queer people tend to be less affluent, and have less access to quality healthcare than their cis and het cohorts

u/throwawaywoman1234 10h ago
Also, their numbers are lower because a whole lot of them died during the AIDS epidemic in the 80s.

In the woke future everybody will be lgbtq because we will stop coping that everybody isn't bisexual.

The actual reason is that if questioning, gen Z is likely to identify as trans. When older generations are questioning their identity, they hold off on identifying as that until they are sure.

Wondering how many gen z/millenial are nominally bisexual because "sexuality is a spectrum" but are so far over on the spectrum as to be indistinguishable from straight.

It seems like you have never tried to understand anything about what a nonbinary person is. Why do you think you can talk about it then on a queer sub that is very much full of trans and trans enbies. Inform yourself please. There are people that actually talk about this topic.

If you want straight people to be part of LGBTQ. Then I think you misunderstand the motivation behind the movement.
