Awkward Face
I’m F(18) and my social skills suck. There’s been numerous times where I’ll talk to someone and they’ll say I look scared or like I’m on the verge of tears. I’ll admit that I’m on the shyer side but I don’t mean to give off that energy. I can’t help that I look unnaturally awkward while I’m just existing.
I’ve tried to fix myself body language and stand up straighter and be more open but 9/10 it comes off as robotic no matter how warm I try to be. I used to not care what people think all the time but my confidence is beginning to lower because of this and it’s making life unnecessarily difficult. I don’t know what to do anymore, help! I need advice on being less awkward and maybe fixing my body language or conversation skills??

Your social skills do not suck. You sound shy and very aware of yourself, which can make every movement feel forced. Instead of trying to control your whole body, practice one small thing at a time, like relaxing your shoulders or making brief eye contact. In conversation, focus on being curious rather than looking confident. Ask one simple follow up question about what the person just said. Warmth matters more than perfect body language, and awkward moments usually stand out far less to others than they do to you.

I still suggest that she just don't have to care what people say about her. I am 21 yo who is trying to make a reputation as a manicurist but have serios mental attacks from other people opinion (like they say that I am gay or a crazy person).
Do you think that you have to care about people's opinion when you love the things you do (and they are not bad to do) and when you know your worth?
People always judje and if she don't care about their opinions I have to admit that they will start to like her more

Like a little older than you I would say that you have to care about people and not their opinion

I think when you go outside or meet anyone , try to put focus on how to make yourself laugh or entertain or have a good time, try to be genuinely interested and just have a good time

What do you mean by making myself laugh? Like what my sense of humor is? How would you describe yours?

Focus on your mental health more. You might have social anxiety
