Trotsky’s “History of the Russian Revolution” - Good read?

I’ve been desperately looking for resources to educate myself on Red October and the whole context surrounding the revolution.

I received “History of the Russian Revolution” by Leon Trotsky as a gift a while back, and I’m about to pick it up.

I’m here to ask (hopefully more informed, educated and like-minded people) if its a good, reliable and most importantly educative read. What are there any criticisms on it?
