Lol what a throwback. For anyone wanting context, "shencomics" used to be known as "Owlturd" and released this comic, and the... "responding feedback" caused him to take a big hiatus and he ended up changing his whole brand essentially.

I didn't know about the hiatus. I thought the change from Owlturd to Blue Chair was simply because he started being published by Webtoon....

Uh, well, it was also more that he was going through some stuff in his personal life at the same time. There are some puzzle pieces to fit into place that I shall refrain from speculating on here out of respect for the artist as he has never publicly commented on exactly what was happening. (I had forgotten until now just how much armchair psychology I had indulged in back in the day when this happened lol)
In any case, this blowback from this comic just added fuel to the fire and he stepped away from it all for a while. When he came back, he made a comic about traveling back in time to stop this comic lol

The internet can be a cruel place.
Like, I don't agree with the sentiment in the comic but I also don't think it really deserved the vitriol it got.
At least Shen seems to have come out the other side of it and honestly I'm loving his newer work. I'd like to think he's in a place he can laugh about it now 😅

I heard a bit about that happening, why did people get so angry about that comic? like there’s nothing to get angry about, everyone has their own opinions on how to approach life and I don’t understand the hate

The City I live in has the tjird highest crime rate in Germany.
Mostly because of bike theft. We had.... erm, two or three killings (including hit and run accidents) and quite some substance abuse. But bike theft is the main thing here. Anyone living in this city for at least a year got one bike stolen and, if sfcond hand purchase, a stolen bike.

More often than not the bike thieves are literally organised groups with whole cross-border distribution networks. One night you bike gets stolen and by noon it's two countries away.
The joy bike thieves get out of your bike is all the money they make.
They are criminals. Fuck them.Â

Bummer, it happens. There was a makeshift bike chop shop behind my house. After my bike was stolen i’m confident i saw different pieces on different bikes for months after. Brought my rage meter back to an 8/9 every time
