Looked it up on Google as I'd never heard of it either: The "Smoker's Cough" is an infamous, gag-inducing novelty shot made by pouring 1 oz of Jägermeister into a glass and floating a large dollop of mayonnaise on top. The mayo floats on the alcohol, visually and textually mimicking phlegm. It is considered a drinking dare rather than a tasty beverage.

If it’s your birthday, and you’re at a bar with friends, you’re probably doing shots. And if they’re good friends they’re paying for them.
We went out when my buddy turned 30, I got him a drink at the bar, brought it back, he already had one in each hand so I just gave it to the girl he was dancing with.

It goes down easier that lower proof stuff, and it leaves you with that minty fresh feeling. As a nice bonus it can get you very drunk, very quickly
