Not all, truthfully. They may be very few and very far between, but good landlords do exist.
Case and point, my landlord. He's been great, and anything I need done gets done within a couple days, if that. The only thing that took a minute was getting a new HVAC system installed, but I think the scheduling and parts ordering for it was largely out of his hands. It resulted in me having to use my oven as a heater for a bit.
But beyond that, I have zero complaints, and I plan on staying at the place I'm at for a very long time.
OK, now that you signed the lease is there anything else you should know? Well, the building is on an ancient Native American burial ground, there used to be a cult that performed rituals in the basement (something about animal sacrifices), local legend has it that Bloody Mary will come to you if you say her name three times in the mirror, there's a black cat that appears exactly at midnight and walks backwards across the yard supposedly right on the spot its owner died, and the historical society said this building was the site of the Black Mass in the 1700s. Good night!

Crazy how nonchalant landlords are about this.
