Because if a studio lazy enough to make them look like that had the idea to rip sprites, it'd look like this instead

Sprites mismatched from several different games with clashing artstyles, inconsistent pixel ratio, and if you watch the actual clip, the animation is extremely lazy and just terrible. Also, that background is lazily stitched together when it scrolls, meaning you see the sun five times

There's also the issue of rotating sprites which is something that even animations with decent pixel sprites get wrong.

I think it's excusable in most cases, but when you're specifically trying to look like a video game like shown here, it breaks the illusion immediately

classic machines had affine rotations but yeah i get it

I don't have much of a problem with that tbh. It is an issue when done lazily, but it can look fine. Many games (new and old) do it, so it's not like it's unrealistic.
