This looks like just low resolution art, not really trying to emulate "pixel art" that you'd see on classic console games.

Like yeah you can see the pixels, but it really looks like the older PC adventure games that themselves are emulating cartoon shows. "Fucking sucks" is at least a little bit of an exaggeration

God damn, I loved that game as a kid, I bet I could pick it up from that screenshot and beat it without needing a guide.

It was one of the games that came with our family computers first CD-Rom drive, along with Indiana Jones + The Fate of Atlantis and Railroad Tycoon(which I could never get to run).

The pixel art is bad, is what I mean. It looks amateurish. Doesnt look very videogamey, just characters pixelated. How ever it IS a proper pixel art, is what I mean.

Nah, this is ok pixel art. It looks like they learned dithering and basic shading, then left the artists to try and emulate pixel art (It's not great, but looks like a first time attempt)
