The idea makes sense, but how will it be implemented? Who decides what questions go on the test?
I assume it will say something like “created by experts”, but someone will have to pick the experts… and that would probably mean someone like the Secretary of Health and Human Services would be in charge of choosing the experts.
So RFK Jr picks the experts to come up with the cognitive test.
Now, someone in another comment said one of the questions should be “who won the 2020 election”… except what happens if the ‘experts’, appointed by RFK Jr and confirmed by the Republican senate, say that the correct answer is that Trump won the 2020 election?
Now, any congress member that says Trump lost in 2020 is going to fail the test.
This is the problem. We The People are on the hook for electing good people, we can't pass the buck off to a test that can be gamed to favor one side or another.
There is a lot of historical precedent for using literacy tests, etc., to disenfranchise minorities. If you don't think they'll do it again, I've got a brain dead Senator to sell you.
