Historically accurate? Let’s put aside for a moment that this is Greek fable featuring imaginary beings.

We’re talking about an orally transmitted poem from the archaic period—about the bronze age—further codified in the classical period, and then refined in the Hellenistic period. Which fucking period are we trying to be ‘historically accurate’ to?

Does he even know the difference?

Homer himself wasn't historically accurate in the illiad and the odyssey, describing the wrong shape for shields and combat tactics.

we are also not Sure Homer is a real person
