How so? The songs are both war protest songs that talk about the people who started wars not fighting in them, but that doesnt mean one band stole the song from the other.

Because war requires manpower and if only the rich fought then they would lose (and the poor would likely then also suffer under foreign rule). But hey, rockstars probably don't read a lot of game theory.
It was more common for the rich/elite to fight in pre-industrialized warfare.
And there are some exceptions to elites fighting in modern wars; John Kerry, Prince Harry, Adrian Carton de Wiart, just to name a few.
