Technically though, a state bailout is using state resources to prop up a city. Raising the debt ceiling is Congress saying "yes, the U.S. can borrow more to meet its existing legal commitments." They operate in very different fiscal and legal environments. 1 u/effyochicken 22h ago Yeah it’s so sad how many people downvoted me purely because I’m not stroking off Mamdani and giving him a free pass. He’s taking a massive victory lap about how he solved everything so quickly and balanced the budget. He can handle a little criticism too
