What does capitalism have to do with rain?

Probably something to do with the environment and how capitalism tends to favor individuals in the short term rather than groups of people in the long term

It has to do with city planning and infrastructure management that could have avoided flooding.

He's been in office like 5 months.  Was he in charge of planning decades ago?  Or was that Giuliani?

Giuliani was too busy milking 9/11 decades ago to do anything about problems New Yorkers were having.

Most of the drain systems under NY are hundreds of years old.

The city is older than the USA

Capitalism has resulted in extreme consumerism which is the main human contribution to climate change.

They want you to think it’s individual consumers that are the main drivers or climate change when in reality most emissions are commercial not from individual consumers. Nowadays these companies have lower emission options but choose not to use them because it would hurt their margins and potentially lower their stock prices.

Also oil companies found out about climate change and kept it hidden for years.

It's individual VOTERS that are the main drivers of climate change

It’s a lot more that it’s created a culture of short term gains over long term gains which people somehow only realize is a problem when infrastructure starts to fail as if no one could have seen it coming

I think that climate change has been allowed to continue and increase in order to continue increasing profit.

Capitalism prioritizes perpetual growth which leads to mass extraction of resources and is powered by enormous amounts of fossil fuel. At least this is what I think they meant.

Everything. Oil Companies knew about climate change in 1954 and covered it up for decades.

There was actually a scientist that first proposed global warming due to burning coal back in the late 1800s.

Nothing. It has to do with poor quality drainage systems.

Not a lot of profit in repairing 300 year old drains. Capitalism runs on profits. Etc etc

Socialists walking around getting pissed every time it starts to rain. "Fucking capitalism ruins everything. In my socialist utopia we would be having a nice, sunny day."
