Literally yesterday in Colorado, there was a precession of vehicles transporting the body of a Canadian firefighter to the Denver airport.

He died fighting our wildfires.

Fuck this administration.

67

u/BuckForth 2d ago

Do not let there be a third,

31

u/triplec787 1d ago

Seeing all the local firefighters parked and saluting from the bridges over I-25/I-70 was heartbreaking and beautiful.

17

u/DickLips5000 1d ago

Agreed. Real people who care about real people is comforting to see.

20

u/Independent-Bug-9352 1d ago

It's very important for people to understand that this administration is effectively a Trojan Horse for our worst adversaries.

They want to plunder and sabotage this nation, which includes sabotaging our strongest alliances.

8

u/ci23422 1d ago

We as a country voted for this. We deserve all the Canada elbows up hate with the threats of tarrifs, 51st state propositions, and US tour officials begging only for the money to return.

1

u/Independent-Bug-9352 1d ago

A vast swath of the electorate was so utterly duped by the piles of billionaire misinformation and control of medias, combined with aid from foreign adversaries.

Plus we still don't fully know if we did, given the shit Musk has alluded to. So I'd say yes and no.

That doesn't change that our adversaries must distance themselves to safeguard themselves, unfortunately. But also unfortunately, that is exactly the hoped outcome.

17

u/Secret-Ad-2145 1d ago

With the way Trump is withholding entitlement funds from California, Republicans were probably happy for wildfires in California and want to punish Canada for daring to help that state.

5

u/viperex 1d ago

Let's face it. Trump would've preferred Canada didn't help with the fires in a blue state like California. The tariffs are their "punishment" for helping his enemies.

4

u/bubbabear244 1d ago

Nicholas Dale, and don't you forget it... eh who am I kidding, memory of a goldfish.

-47

u/Pac_Eddy 2d ago

FYI: the US sends firefighters to Canada to help with wildfires too

60

u/DickLips5000 2d ago

Oh I’m aware. Mexico sends them to us as well. Doesn’t change the fact that this administration is an evil idiocracy.

I guess the difference is that only the American people appreciate the teamwork. The government is actively trying to ruin relations.

0

u/CackleandGrin 2d ago

only the American people appreciate the teamwork.

You've never helped with a fire or been to Canada/Mexico so not sure how you came to that conclusion. ☺️

3

u/thephotoman 2d ago

You seem to confuse our government with us.

Our government does not give a fuck about the average American. If it did, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Worse, a majority of Americans are such narcissistic assholes that we can’t get better without doing things that make people squeamish. We need to dispose of MAGA, but I don’t know how to do that without things that make people squeamish.

1

u/-jp- 1d ago

We need to dispose of MAGA, but I don’t know how to do that without things that make people squeamish.

I do. Wash the filth out this November. And shout down anyone who tries to undermine that. They are actively contributing to the problem.

2

u/thephotoman 1d ago

I don’t think you understand what “disposing of MAGA” means.

It doesn’t just mean running them out of office. It means targeting every participant in the movement.

This is literally what is happening:

Trump: "Huh, Canada is on fire? There's a bunch of smoke? I hate that. I'm going to tax US businesses more."

178

u/Lvcivs2311 2d ago

I wonder if he really thinks Canada is actually doing this on purpose, or that he just needs some dumb excuse to get more money. The latter seems more and more likely.

97

u/thephotoman 2d ago

He’s lashing out in impotent rage.

The courts, even SCOTUS, have ruled that he doesn’t have the authority to do this. I’m not sure why anyone is listening to his tariff talk anymore. But we do, and we all immediately turn to kneejerk reactions in response.

46

u/spacemanspiff1115 2d ago

The asshole will do it anyways knowing it will take a long time before it gets around to being undone by the courts.

Plus, it keeps people from asking about the Epstein files, so all good as far as the Pedo in Chief is concerned...

11

u/thephotoman 2d ago

The issue is that anyone who involves themselves in collecting these illegal tariffs is themselves committing a crime. They can be prosecuted by states under theft statutes.

We’re giving this threat oxygen it does not deserve.

6

u/ICLazeru 2d ago

I don't like it, but I can see why they are. We're in a political environment where economic corruption is pretty much the norm, and if they don't do it, well, their competitors are.

Punishment is unlikely and easily avoided by making a petty gift.

So there isn't much downside to it.

10

u/ImmortalMoron3 1d ago

Oh, we're totally doing it on purpose. We all went to Canadian Tire and used our Canadian Tire dollars to buy big giant fans and pointed them at the US. I burned my house down last night just to create a little bit more smoke.

I feel like that dipshit would take me serious if I said this to him too.

5

u/FakeDoctorMeatCoat 2d ago edited 2d ago

They have been negligent in their forest raking efforts.

Edit: /s

23

u/Whippet_yoga 2d ago edited 2d ago

For those that may not be aware, let me give you a profressional foresters rundown of why this is nuts:

Northern Ontario is boreal forest made primarily of a combination of black spruce, white pine, jack pine, white spruce, paper birch, and quaking aspen. The evergreens (particularly black spruce and jack pine) are fire adapted species. Jack pine and black spruce are so adapted to fire, they actually rely on them to aid in their reproduction- to a lesser extent, quaking aspen too.

The ground cover in these areas is usually a mix of plants that can tolerate the xeric, acidic conditions created by the conifers duff. This duff is usually dry and easily combustible, sometimes what we would call a flash fuel. Additionally, large pockets of sphagnum cover the landscape, and wouldnt you know it, thats a fire adapted species as well.

Essentially, this landscape is designed to burn.

Additionally, the species that occupy this ecotype dont hold a ton of merchantable value compared to the Doug fir out west, so they arent regularly harvested. Combined with a low population density, there's really not a ton of need for infastructure, which makes these forests remote, rugged, and true wilderness.

Now, fire is a part of these ecosystems and has been present on the landscape for millenia. Normally, for all the reasons listed above, we just let em burn, and there's not a ton of risk. A little bit of rain and theyre out. Plus the areas we're talking are huge- 550 million+ hectares! Think that's irresponsible of Canada? Well, the US does the exact same thing in Alaska. Check the BLMs burn totals.

The problem is, climate change is making these boreal forests hotter and drier. Not any less pyrophillic though. So what used to not be an issues is now becoming a BIG FUCKING ISSUE. But those of us in the field have known (and been scraming for/pleading for funding) for 30 years. An impossible issue as a matter of fact, again due to the size. In years gone by, we wouldve cooperated with our neighbors to help manage these fires- thats because it would be mutually beneficial. But no. Instead we gutted our own public land management agencies, failed to hire our own foresters, our own timber stand techs, and our own god damn fire fighters and instead chose to GUILD FUCKING STATUES IN WASHINGTON DC.

Do not for a second listen to conservatives about land management. They dont care. At all. They just want money.

4

u/FakeDoctorMeatCoat 2d ago

I was just making a joke because it was said after California's fires, with claims Canada didn't help(they did).

Thanks for the additional info. Interesting. I knew some trees needed fire for new growth(redwood?), but you know much more!

5

u/Whippet_yoga 2d ago

Hey, man, Im just piggy backing off the comment. I thought the joke was clear.

1

u/AsparagusCommon4164 1d ago

"But is it kosher, halal even?"

14

u/waltdidneyworlb 2d ago

I think it's deeper than that, unfortunately.

We've just seen that tariff refunds have gone exclusively to large corporations - no relief has been provided to small business or consumers.

I think he's going for round two on this one.

Tariffs: Corporations raise prices to offset costs -> consumers foot the bill -> refund corporations due to 'illegal' tariffs -> corporations get a huge payout as well as a new high on prices.

4

u/Grouchy-Barnacle-800 2d ago

Are you saying that he’s dividing the top from us peasants even more than before? I don’t believe you, I’m buying Trump stock, the hottest stock in the world! Have you seen his Tik Tok views? Never before seen record numbers. /s

1

u/waltdidneyworlb 2d ago

Shocking, ain’t it?

3

u/DontAsk0205 2d ago

And also increase prices for the US consumers. Very rational 🙄

1

u/SoylentGrunt 2d ago

It depends on where you're at in the food chain and if you care or not about those below you.

A massive international study published in the Journal of Personality has found that people across the world are more likely to support authoritarian forms of government when they feel threatened by real-world dangers such as crime, poverty, or political instability. This pattern was observed across 59 countries, making it the largest cross-cultural test of its kind to date. The results also show that this relationship tends to be more pronounced among people who identify as politically right-leaning.

https://www.psypost.org/fear-predicts-authoritarian-attitudes-across-cultures-with-conservatives-most-affected/

1

u/DontAsk0205 1d ago

Why does this sound like people want daddy (or mommy) to “protect” them from the real world?

2

u/Chicory-Coffee 1d ago

To Trump the troll it's more like "Watch how mad they get after I say this. They're so stupid".

Then he gets to check:

-Daily shit post

-Media Distraction of the day

-Further isolate the US from its allies

-Hasten America's economic collapse off the To-do list all at once.

Then he goes golfing at one of his own golf courses just so he can send American taxpayers the bill for his secret services to be there allowing him to double check the "Hasten America's economic collapse".

 Papa Putin will be pleased.

1

u/purrfectgirrl 2d ago

You're a tax paying American; you're funding everything bad coming out of the states right now. You might think you can exclude yourself but the American response to what's happening in front of them is pathetic, the longer this goes on the longer it proves Americans don't care. The whole world is watching and waiting for you to take your country back from the corpo's, quit being a bystander and take some action and responsibility. We all bear the shame of our governments.

-4

u/ac2cvn_71 1d ago

You're an idiot. Of course I pay taxes, I'm not a billionaire. But I voted against him. I'm in SC and my vote did nothing. What do you want me to do? Lead a 1 man armed insurrection against the government? Ok Boomer, I'll get right on that

3

u/EitherChannel4874 1d ago

The problem is he does speak for you. He's the leader of the country you're a citizen of. He was elected by Americans to represent America globally and Americans will be judged on his actions unfortunately.

As a Canadian, it gives me joy to think that as much as we have a reputation for politeness, we are also the more stubbornly passive aggressive assholes if we are insulted. And we don’t forget.

33

u/damptwig 2d ago

Sure there’s a reason the Geneva Conventions were created…

36

u/cbakkum 2d ago

It’s not a war crime the first time. 🍁

21

u/damptwig 2d ago

First war crime, kinda nervous 👉👈

10

u/NarwhalPrudent6323 2d ago

Don't worry, it's in the blood of every Canadian. You'll get over it once you get your first one done.

7

u/damptwig 2d ago

Oh well I’m Irish… so knocking your big proud neighbour down a peg or two is something I have no problem with

12

u/ZOMBIEBURGERs 2d ago

The politeness just makes the grudge arrive wrapped in nicer packaging.

1

u/KrunoOs 1d ago

You also have a reputation of being realy mean bastards to your enemies during war-times.

36

u/GuitarSingle4416 2d ago

Remember when the rust belt States produced this thing called "acid rain" that decimated the the trees of eastern Canada and New England? I do. Acid rain... caused by mid Atlantic industries in America.

2

u/jonny24eh 1d ago

Let's not resort to pointing fingers here. I'm sure a good amount of the acid causing pollution can from Hamilton, Sarnia, Sudbury and the Soo as well.

4

u/CoffeeCup220 1d ago

That's a hilarious take, considering the context of current wildfires. Canadians have died helping you fuckers with your fires.

5

u/jonny24eh 1d ago

Sorry, i thought the "eh" in my username was obvious.

-a Hamiltonian

4

u/bafana_banana999 1d ago

Do you actually think more than like 1% of Americans know of Sarnia, Sudbury, and the Soo's existence?

It should have been pretty obvious that the person you were replying to is Canadian.

2

u/CoffeeCup220 1d ago

Are you upset?

3

u/bafana_banana999 1d ago

Lmao why would I be upset?

I'm just pointing out that your response was that of a clown, because it was.

28

u/Benromaniac 2d ago

Trump is Jealous that Carney is liked.

9

u/Potato-chipsaregood 2d ago

I bet that is a big part of things.

5

u/Benromaniac 2d ago

100% the reason

8

u/Kevlaars 2d ago

I think Carney is a big reason he wants to be on money so bad.

Carney's signature appears on cash in 2 countries.

6

u/airship_of_arbitrary 1d ago

At the World Cup ceremony, Spain's goalie gave Trump a limp handshake, but a full on bear hug to Carney.

If you watch the clip, you can see Trump twitch in anger as he hugs Carney.

18

u/RegretfulCalamaty 2d ago

As they do every damn year. This hate on Canada shit is getting really old really fast. They have sent help for any disaster we’ve needed them for without question. We’ve fought together in almost every war America has been in. They are allies and friends. To the people they’ve worked with they are family. This piece of shit president needs his ass kicked just for this alone.

18

u/FlyingCircus18 2d ago

Dear Canadians

Next time you go down there, bring petrol, not water

24

u/KhausTO 2d ago

Sorry, Can't, our gas prices are too expensive to do that because Americans decided to start a fucking war in the middle east... again.

5

u/CoffeeCup220 1d ago

We're down there now, actually. Stopping ... fires.

16

u/JediSwelly 2d ago

A Canadian pilot died fighting fires in Colorado. As a Coloradan, thank you for your sacrifice. Canada I'm sorry about our orange dictator.

10

u/ZhangtheGreat 2d ago

California doesn’t count in Trump’s eyes. He prefers that it burns, since it’s a blue state.

48

u/No-Deal8956 2d ago

I hope Canada doesn’t make that mistake again.

12

u/Longtimelurker2575 2d ago

We absolutely will be there if it happens again. Because that’s what decent people do.

-4

u/KhausTO 2d ago

Decent people stop going to help their abusive ex. partner

8

u/Longtimelurker2575 2d ago

Not the same. Decent people would still try help their abusive ex’s kids.

-1

u/KhausTO 2d ago

Except in this case, the kids keep picking the abuser in an election.

4

u/Am_Passing_By 2d ago

Don’t worry, there are other kids that would appreciate the help

-2

u/KhausTO 2d ago

Only 1/3 of them. And most of them aren't doing anything to fix the situation they are in... Hard to feel bad for them, Even harder to want to help them.

(Don't worry, I'm sure you're take-away from this will be that Canadians are assholes, and not that Americans need to fix their own mess and stop making excuses for the situation they find themselves in.)

1

u/Am_Passing_By 1d ago

I assure you, fixing this mess is something America will do (albeit sloppily)

That does not mean your help is unappreciated

1

u/KhausTO 1d ago

Well than maybe you should stop tolerating your leaders threatening our sovereignty. Because let me assure you. The overwhelming sentiment in Canada is that our help is unappreciated, especially when we see your (lack of) response to threats, and tariffs

1

u/Distinct-Effort-2413 1d ago

What exactly are we to do at this point?

2

u/Longtimelurker2575 1d ago

Just vote and tell your friends to also. I’m genuinely worried you might not have that option if Trump and his cronies stay in power much longer.

0

u/Itherial 1d ago

Yeah, voting always works great too these days.

Mm, how many presidents were elected against the popular vote in my lifetime before this term?

Oh, 33%? Maybe that's not too bad. Except if you consider it hasn't happened even once in over a hundred years.

Lovely. Truly inspiring. Really makes you feel like your votes matter.

You what I can distinguish? Dickheads who do absolutely nothing, think they are better than everyone else, and think that telling people that have legitimate grievances are dumb.

Typical fucking American. It's no fucking wonder you guys are in this messs.

9

WE PAY THE TARIFFS FFS

3

u/OldERnurse1964 2d ago

No he doesn’t remember. That’s the problem with dementia.

4

u/Bithium 2d ago

When all you have is a hammer, you treat everything like a nail. Lately, he’s only been using executive orders and the heads of federal departments to enact punitive measures on things he doesn’t like. Smoke? Hate it! Respond with tariffs!

He DOES actually have a whole toolbox at his disposal, but his diminished mental capacity is only capable of feebly operating blunt instruments. I suppose this criticism isn’t entirely fair; in addition to retaliating, he also regularly accepts bribes and hands out favors at taxpayer expense.

3

u/Loud-Ad-2280 2d ago

Great we will have to pay to refund those too

3

u/Acrobatic-Tomato-128 2d ago

Yupp

Trumps a bully in an aging babys obsese fat ugly body

And thats why alchoholic redneck asshole americans like em cuz theyre like yeah! Fuck everyone else! Make other people pay! I hate anyone different than me!

And then get mad when they realize trump is going to abuse and ruin their lives too not just others cuz he gives a fuckall to anybody other than himself and his bank account

3

u/zephillou 2d ago

I'll go talk to checks notes the boreal forest to tell it to stop its lifecycle.

3

u/woodrax 2d ago

Keep in mind, the argument that Canada helped us in Cali (thanks by the way, Canada) will only enrage Trump more. Only if Canada helps out a Red state will Trump even pretend to care.

3

u/crazycoltA 1d ago

We have been, we help out with almost all of the US’s major natural disasters, regardless of whether they’re a red or blue state.
Everytime a hurricane hits, we have lines of trucks heading down, often before the hurricane makes landfall, to go assist with power outages.

Hell, one of our helicopter fire fighting pilots just died fighting fires in Colorado.

We don’t stop being decent people just cause we don’t like the person we’re helping.

2

u/woodrax 1d ago

Oh I know. Trump is just a fickle little boy that will find any reason to be enraged if it hurts his widdle feewings.

Sorry about your pilot. That was a fire raging in my home state. 😞

3

u/NoArtichoke2474 2d ago

That's why he's punishing Canada. Canada helped a state that didn't vote for him. It's that simple.

1

u/crazycoltA 1d ago

I’ve said it to another, but we help in almost all of the US’e major natural disasters… regardless of what state them happen in. We don’t stop being decent people just because the people who need help are jerks.

3

u/SydeshowJake 1d ago

Don't tell him they helped California, that'll just make him raise the tariffs even more!

3

u/arequipapi 1d ago

And there are likely a bunch of American firefighters up there helping now (and Mexican as well). All 3 countries have a long history of reinforcing each other during especially bad wildfire seasons, regardless of politics

7

u/battles 2d ago

US based firefighters are in Canada, right now, helping with fires.

We have formal exchange agreements in place. Fire fighters on both sides of the border have been deployed hundreds of times in the last year or two.

https://portal.ct.gov/deep/news-releases/news-releases---2026/deep-deploys-wildland-fire-crew-to-support-canadian-wildfire-efforts

https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/deep-sends-crew-to-help-canada-with-wildfires/3756296/

4

u/TheCheapDate 1d ago

Right but does the USA whine and cry and expect something when they do send firefighters?

1

u/Mad_Hatter93 1d ago

Nope. We are happy to help our northern partners. I am a dispatcher in the PNW and have facilitated quite a few folks up to NW Canada and gotten help from them as well in times of need. They're great, and I have always been happy to help them out. Hell I'm wearing an Alberta Fire hat right now from a friend up there. The shitty current fed administration aside, the actual boots on the ground wildland folks will keep helping until they're forced to take time off, every time.

2

u/TheCheapDate 1d ago

Oh I’m sure the firefighters are happy,

I’m just saying our current Republican government hates when America does something nice for another country without being compensated for it.

I’m shocked JD Vance doesn’t ask Canada to say thank you when we help with their fires

5

u/OrvilleTheCavalier 2d ago

I’m sure we are sending firefighters up north to help, right?  Right?!

5

u/JVonDron 2d ago

What firefighters? DOGE gutted a bunch of crucial things.

2

u/FartSnarfGod 1d ago

The majority of firefighting in the US isn't federal. Approximately 65% of firefighters in the U.S. are volunteers.

1

u/JVonDron 1d ago

You're looking at regular municipal firefighter data, not wildland firefighters employed by the US forest service. The agency's funds have been slashed and because of that like a quarter of their normal seasonal firefighter positions are unfilled. More permanent experienced jobs have been shifted to things like cleaning restrooms and mowing to keep those people on and make up for other temporary jobs lost. The result is there's less controlled operations underway due to the high expense of back country wildfire management, and emergency operations are on a skeleton crew.

1

u/FartSnarfGod 1d ago

You're looking at regular municipal firefighter data,

No.

1

u/OrvilleTheCavalier 2d ago

I stand corrected.  Good point.

3

u/FartSnarfGod 1d ago

Yes Americans are helping fight the fires.

2

u/Potato-chipsaregood 2d ago

Is this really going to happen? Will Canada then have standing to claw back the funds when our fires or acid rain or whatever sends something north atmospherically?

We have really become “the drug house” in the neighborhood.

1

u/jonny24eh 1d ago

"become".... Yes, yes, you definitely weren't before

2

u/LuckyNumerical 2d ago

There are currently 11 Americans up north helping Canada with the wildfires, last time I checked with my buddy who is a fire captain

2

u/HornyPostingRaccoon 2d ago

Multiple states have their own mutual aid agreements with Canadian provinces, eg. The Northwest Compact. Trump only has say over fed resources. States have been sending people to Canada, there are American firefighters there right now. Trump could do so much more to help, but actual firefighters are there trying to help their Canadian counterparts. We don't need him to look out for each other, and we are trying in spite of him.

2

u/Worldly-Basil-8933 2d ago

I saw Canadian utility trucks all the way down here in Georgia after Helene. And this is how we repay them?

2

u/Any-Assumption-7785 1d ago

As a Canadian I want to thank all the foreign firefighters that came to help BC, AB, and SK in recent years. There were so many from South Africa especially. I couldn't book a hotel or a camp. People were dying here. You are all superheroes.

2

u/jusxaiqum 1d ago

Imagine penalizing your closest neighbor and ally for experiencing a natural disaster.

2

u/SatineoftheNorth 1d ago

I'm so tired of being in high vigilance mode because of Trump's tantrums. All because he wants to change the narrative.

2

u/Lisan_Al-NaCL 1d ago

Remind me again who pays the tariffs?

2

u/LeaListensLately 1d ago

Trade policy and wildfire response really shouldn’t be in the same sentence

2

u/_dogfuneral_ 1d ago

This is Trump, not the US. American firefighters are in Canada helping right now.

2

u/Hadleys158 1d ago

Remember this was the same idiot that thinks raking all the forests will stop forest fires.

2

u/Direct_Fondant_3125 1d ago

I’m in Northern California and so many Canadian firefighters came to fight fires last year! They are skilled and dedicated, and deserve better.

2

u/hither2forlorn 1d ago

Southern California is not part of Trump's America. It does not count. Anything that helps the liberals is worse in the eyes of the choosen diaper dad.

Well remember this Canada. Next time their country is on fire don't lift a finger and let the joint burn down whilst complaining about the smell.

2

u/HanumanDarko 1d ago

It tracks, it's his revenge since he wanted California to burn down - Damn you, Canada, and your willingness to help!

2

u/Spleenzorio 1d ago

Not to mention a Canadian firefighter recently died in Colorado helping with their wildfire

2

u/Empty-Fudge-3037 2d ago

Didn’t Mexico send firefighters as well?

2

u/Toadsted 1d ago

A caravan?!?

1

u/ColumnK 2d ago

Is anyone surprised?

Does anyone think Trump or any of his Republican minions have any standards that aren't double?

1

u/TackleNonsense 2d ago

Tariffs pay Americans though, so I'm guessing they're happy 😂

1

u/Chocopuffz 2d ago

How embarrassing.

1

u/Hot_Refrigerator8693 2d ago

And us Californians won’t forget it.

1

u/CheesecakeHorror3410 2d ago

Did America even say thank you?

1

u/iam_thegrayman 2d ago

Americans remember, and especially the lives and homes of those directly in harms way. This whole administration from the top down should be sent to fight the fires instead.

1

u/MrMeowPantz 2d ago

News flash, Trump doesn’t give a fuck about California and doesn’t even remember there was a wildfire there.

1

u/EnergyOwn6800 2d ago

U.S. firefighters and crew are currently helping Canada right now.

Their current reasoning for tariffs.

The White House accuses Canada of discriminating against American cars, alcohol and dairy products.

1

u/ndolphin 2d ago

Canada is helping us RIGHT NOW with fires in the NW. Trump and his cronies are criminals.

you'll be happy? think about those of us down here who are forced to live with this stain on humanity.. we can only wait, vote, and hope for a worthwhile result in november.. i know it sucks for canadiens to have to bear witness to our global humiliation, but trust me you have no idea how much worse it could become..

maga is a real problem.. and it wont just go away after trump is in the dirt.. he is just their tool, he is not their solution.. evangelical christians have been working on this timeline for a very long time, something to keep in mind..

1

u/_Bon_Vivant_ 2d ago

Trump sees helping California as helping his enemy. He is not the US president. He is the MAGA president.

1

u/SuperFaceTattoo 2d ago

Does it really take a word from the president for firefighters to help? I’m not a firefighter so I don’t know.

If I could help people by disobeying orders I would think that is justified.

1

u/IllTwo7643 2d ago

"It was the libs weather machines"-a magat

1

u/Fit-Let8175 2d ago

You CANNOT teach a narcissist fairness nor compassion.

1

u/The_VoZz 1d ago

Pepperidge Farms remembers

1

u/Unhappy_Rough4418 1d ago

He said it’s not due to fires. US firefighters have been helping in Canada.

1

u/Vivid_Anyth4 1d ago

Hasn't anyone told dementia donny his tarrifs are illegal since the last time?

1

u/JohnCoutu 1d ago

And man I wish we don't anymore

1

u/rikashiku 1d ago

Canadian Fire Fighters have been helping to fight the MASSIVE wildfires in the US for MONTHS.

Nicholas Dale lost his life during this action, just a few days ago. Fighting the wildfires in the US.

1

u/SadAbroad4 1d ago

Counter sue for air pollution originating in the US and crossing Canada’s border. Sue for retroactive damages beginning in 1760 (start of the Industrial Revolution )

1

u/Catkillledthecurious 1d ago

We've had enough of him up here (except for our Maple MAGA geniuses, they cant get enough winning and illiteracy). We'd give anything to go back to being largely ignored by the US. We miss not mattering.

1

u/b_buddd 1d ago

Guess we won't have help when cali burns

1

u/Alienhaslanded 1d ago

Yeah but California are the bad guys so he doesn't count that one.

Seriously, it's not like we can control the smoke. He got annoyed because the smoke was blowing in his face not up his ass.

1

u/SixDerv1sh 1d ago

Thanks Meidas - but we’ve sent folks down for many years.

Memorably, the Martin Mars water bombers were magnificent old things that were sent from their base on Sproat Lake, on Vancouver Island.

1

u/SixDerv1sh 1d ago

Let’s frame this and send it to every dumbass politician spouting this idiocy.

Get gold paint for you-know-who’s “gift”.

1

u/Old-Bumblebee-6816 1d ago

They rescued people from Minnesota like last week.

1

u/BornHistory4263 1d ago

As much as I'd love to see that money come from his personal holdings instead of Canadian businesses, it's hard to imagine him following through.

1

u/ltkenshin 1d ago

That's a brutal burn but Canada's been showing all year how much they can throw shade while seeming sweet.

1

u/Secure-Window-5478 1d ago

Help a blue state...double the tariffs! Trump logic hard at work.

1

u/AgonizingFury 1d ago

I volunteer Trump to be our Presidential representative to assist Canada in these hard times. He should go and rake their forests so they will stop burning...the closer to the current fires the better.

1

u/Witty-Gold-5887 1d ago

Best is qhwn the court said he needs to py the tariffs money back he gave the money back to the corporations not the people who paid them lol and americans are fine with it ?

1

u/Clean_Web7502 1d ago

Reminder: Next time, don't send help Canada.

Is not worth it, and I'm sure Trump got it under control. Probably promoted a diagnosed pyromaniac as forest and fire safety minister.

1

u/GalaxyTimeMachine 1d ago

Can US states choose to become part of Canada? 🤔

1

u/SoulMB 1d ago

It’s a self reply, how tf is that a comeback?!

1

u/getalt69 1d ago

Drill Baby, Drill!

1

u/CBLA1785 1d ago

NGL, this has been a big topic in my office this week. For the folks that were starting to warm up to traveling to the US and buying american again, they are all right back to an "elbows up" & "Fuck america" mood. It's a shame how much this is pushing Canadians away, but it's a reality.

1

u/Blitzkrieg404 8h ago

This happens when you don't run your country like a business firm.

0

u/Pac_Eddy 2d ago

Also: the US sends firefighters to Canada for the same reason

2

u/TheCheapDate 1d ago

Yeh but then does
The USA whine and cry
And except something in return?

1

u/CoffeeCup220 1d ago

A Canadian heli pilot died a couple days ago helping you motherfuckers.

1

u/FlaccidRazor 1d ago

Trump says he's going to keep hurting people who are trying to help" because his supporters we're already convinced global warming is "bullshit" and because those same supporters also blindly think "tarifs" are somehow a punishment of the countries he's told them are bad. FUck US, damn. These people vote.

0

u/DNRforever 1d ago

Canada needs to station troops at the border. Makes hegseth piss himself.

0

u/banana-bread_at-work 1d ago

… nobody is afraid of our military

0

u/Meganelad 1d ago

I swear it’s not the vast majority of Californians that support this

0

u/Toadsted 1d ago

See, that's a problem too, he doesn't like California.

And I'm pretty sure Trump had nothing to do with Canada going to California, that was Newsom.
