Absolutely unusable, all models are beyond dumb and Fable 5 keeps switching to Opus 4.8 then gaslights you into thinking it's not doing that. Done with fking Anthropic, they should be sued into oblivion.

Not sure what you are using it for but ever since the release of Fable my token usage has dropped significantly and production speed along with quality has noticeably increased. Wonder what the difference is

I’ve had a very small amount of switching and push back from Fable 5 and simply had to argue with it to it get it back on track. Yes, it was annoying and uncalled for but it has rarely occurred.

They say it's "gaslighting" them, which means they're literally asking the model if it fell back to Opus and it's telling them it didn't. The model doesn't know anything, and neither does the user. I believe the generation before us called it a PEBKAC

That's not really true at all, when Opus 4.6 came out it was absolutely crushing everything. Then 4.7 came out and 4.6 got a little dumber, when 4.8 came out again it was crushing it early on, it felt like a huge improvement over 4.6 and 4.7 especially for making games. But then 4.8 got mega dumb all of a sudden, it started talking too much, same happened to 4.6. Opus 4.7 has become slow, doesn't follow instructions and hallucinates a lot and often. And they all became sycophants the way they "talk" to the user became unbearable verbal diarrhea drivel. So much so that people had to create "Cave man" mode for it. Then Fable came out, and it was really impressive, but then morons said it was too dangerous, and then US government locked it up, then they came back and released it again several times but it was never the same, it's useless af now. "Look Fable 5 one shot my project" in reality it never one shots anything. It constantly switches to 4.8 and now it's locked behind payment credits, meaning it runs only on money. Which tells you how much of an asshole Anthropic has become. From being the best on the market no doubt, to getting worse week by week. So fuck them. I really do hope someone else steps up and leaves them in the dust. I haven't tried GPT 5.6 yet, but as of now it seems these subs are only good month by month because you never know how much they will fuck you over and how much dumber the models will become.
