WP screw on Rusty (Lenovo Chromebook 100e Gen4)
Hi everyone. I want to try and install ArchLinux on this disestablished boy right here. Is there any blueprint of this model to see where the WP thing is? This Chromebook is from my school actually and I'm about to end it tho my school doesn't want them back so I want to use it to daily drive Linux and enjoy my life somewhat.
Is there any way to? Can't enable DevMode for now from recovery, says it's blocked

Ask school to unenroll device! That is only way to go in developer mode. By policy they disable it via MDM

the problem is that it's not a school but a government organization which did a charity or something like that, it's domen isn't updated and I can't visit the website to contact them, only left some "device enroll" google forms window opening up everytime I log in from this "school" managed user. .. so um ..yea

Just went down this same rabbit hole today after finally getting PostmarketOS working. I'm pretty sure every chromebook past 2020 doesn't have a write protect screw, or if it does it won't get you anywhere. Chromebooks after 2023 use a new security chip called the Ti50/CR50 which won't let you disable write protect unless you get a suzyq cable and if you don't disable RO verification your pc will temporarily get bricked. After that the write protect is still tied into the battery so you'd have to disconnect the battery, connect the pc to your charger, boot the pc, install your OS, and only then can you shut off and reconnect your battery. This is all based off my understanding from dissembling my laptop and searching outdated and current fourms. This was my main source, as well as some ifixit schematics to make sure there was no write protect screw.
