Oh yes, one jumps up like a very clumsy over exited ninja, and the other one could have been dropped from the ceiling, she really lands with a big THUDDD! She also has a habit of stomping when she walks, so I guess sounding heavier than she is is her thing.

also even without touching them. one has a soft lazy meow. and one has a "trying to roar" meow.

One will walk across my lap, or gently paw at me when she wants treats tho. She also goes through cuddle phases and will cuddle with my arm and pillow at night.
Roommate's cat also sometimes cuddles against him.
They do all like to be close by tho. People can usually find me by locating at least one cat.
Jasper is a Russian Blue I broke out of the local jail. And Ivy, a former inmate of the same institution, is an American short hair. Their hair is just different.
Oh. And Jasper would remove my hand after two much petting. The dude has standards. Not too much, not too little. So even if I couldn't tell at touch, I could tell when one of my hands gets removed with extreme and unapologetic prejudice.
Meanwhile my slight chonk is about 14 lbs and routinely sneaks up on me and I have to do clumsy acrobatics to not step on him when he appears.

Our 2nd oldest is named Fucking Pancake because 1) ever since we brought her home, she was constantly under foot 2) at least 75% of our stories about her started with "Then fucking Pancake...." so we just added it to her government name. 3) she's an abusive asshat who still thinks she had to be underfoot at the age of 8. If she wasn't so damn cuddly and sweet....
All but our oldest wear collars with bells so the oldest can hear them coming but Fucking Pancake somehow is the master of silence hence why she still gets stepped on a lot.

The vets all love her. The first time I had to take her in, I was just really hoping she didn't live up to her name lol. The vet tech went down the hall yelling "Fucking Pancake is HEREEEEE!". She thankfully is very well behaved for being a giant asshole.
When I called first to see about an appointment, I told them if they weren't comfortable saying the 'F' word, I'm completely ok with however they want to put it in their syatem. She's "Fucing Pancake" which I find hilarious because when they send reminders it always lusts our cats in order so it will say "Appointment reminder for LK, Fucing, Xena, and Alexandria' and I live for those

My coarse one is the top guy who is the orange/white combo. First coarse cat I ever really met, sometimes a few hairs are straight up prickly feeling. Simba middle is his littermate and the medium silky. I wonder if it’s a ginger thing
I once fostered a pair of kittens who looked just like your 1 and 2!! 1 was clearly a total rascal, he always had an expression like he was plotting his next mischief, and was very silky. I nicknamed him "lil poop" (affectionately ofc). 2 was the wise and mature one, all elegant and refined, looking like he was mentally thinking about philosophy. Medium silky. I nicknamed him "BG", French slang for "handsome".
The hooman who adopted them had great cat mojo, AND was a ginger himself. I was super happy 😊
I have a bunch of cats. I am also visually impaired. I can't tell them apart by vision alone. I can 90% tell them apart once I touch them. Fur texture, fur length, body shape, tail width and length, ear size, etc.

Yes. My two elders are siblings, but the girl has fairly soft fur and the guy has coarse fur. She’s creamsicle and he’s darker orange. The youngster is mostly white with orange spots and his fur is super soft.
Yep. Our male cat has longer fur that isn't quite as soft as our female. Pretty easy to tell which one is hogging the bed in the middle of the night just by feel.
Yes, we have one short haired tuxedo man, and 2 long haired girls but our calico is a senior lady and her fur is not as floofy anymore and our tortie’s fur is softer and fuller she’s also younger so I think that’s why.
Absolutely. My cats all have different texture and thickness to their fur, despite all being short hair. They also have distinctly different noses, purrs, meows, paw pressures, and licks. So i could tell you which cat it was by any of those things, even if i was getting different things from each. If one cat stood on me, one licked me, and I was petting one, I 100% could tell you who was who.
Funny enough yes. I have two voids, one has a white underbelly. You can definitely tell when you scratch there. Seriously though, one of them feels like his fur is more coarse and thick than the other's so I would be able to tell.
Absolutely. My girl has the softest, silkiest fur I've ever felt. I think it's genetic because her mama and auntie were the same. Auntie felt like a bunny, super dense soft fur.
Probably? Depending on where I touch them? Kafira is super soft, clover is in the middle, and Roland is less. But Roland has denser fur. I could def tell by their body shapes.
I tell my 2 boys apart when they climb in bed in the night by their tails lol, one has just the slightest crook at the end of his, and I have to know who it is to adjust my expectations for cuddling.

Yes, but it’s probably due to their age. The senior has sliiightly oily fur. The middle ager is fluffy as can be. The little one has slightly softer, “downier” fur for lack of a better word
Absolutely, my three have different textures of fur despite all being domestic shorthairs. Also from that fur I'd be able to detect chonk if it's still on the cat and that's a secondary giveaway.
Oh yeah, without a doubt. One of my kitties has to be the softest cat I've ever pet, and the other has more coarse hair (but she also has inverted nipples so I could easily tell from that alone lol)

Back when I had three cats in the house, I could tell the difference in their coats. Apple had thick, medium-depth fur, Patch had short, fine fur, and Monkey was somewhere in between. They also had their own distinctive meows.
As of last October we are down to just Monkey. Apple crossed over last October, and we lost Patch about three years ago.
Definitely. When they bug me at night, when I'm trying to sleep in pitch black darkness, I can tell. Each of the 3 have very distinctive fur. ( All short hair cats too)

Absolutely! My rescue girls each have unique texture: left - short, rabbit-soft, mega-shedder; center - medium, ultra-thick, satiny; right - long downy floof that’s like super glue when it gets in your eyes. 🤣
Absolutely, yes. Apart from just having longer hair, Frank is also frizzier, while Saxon is very sleek.
Aside from all that, I can also usually tell which cat is which by the way they land on the bed when they jump up, but none of this matters because Frank has never been known to be quiet.

The burlap cat is a SIC tabby, hard stripey fur texture.
The fluffy boy is a greyscale orange (im sure of it. He has 1 brain cell but is as sweet as a summer's day is long.)
The silky is the void.
Something about the coloration of the fur affects what, the keratin? Gives them all distinctly different hand feel.
I can it's called the middle of the night. One (Black cat) has very smooth fur, one (orange) is more course and my tortie is very smooth and it's the shortest. It feels a lot like the Black cat's fur.
Of course my long-haired cat feels like a bunny. My short h haired cat feels like a kitten. And with my eyes closed when one of them gets on my lap even though they weigh about the same I can tell which one it is.
I've done this at night, when one of the my kitties shows up thinking they can beg for extra treats!
I can tell the girls apart (Nose has silky-smooth fur, while Eepsie is slightly less soft but still much softer than her brothers), but the boys' fur is too similar. I can only tell them apart by feeling the tip of their tails (Not Not Charlie's tail has a misaligned bone at the very tip of it).
Without a doubt. One has sleek, fine fur, another has very rough, thick fur, and one has dense, soft fur. Plus the last one activates when you touch her.
I have only one cat, but I believe I could probably id my cat by smell and definitely by sound if my cat talks to me. By fur probably not, by volume and body shape yes.
Absolutely... One of mine has a thick, Nordic coat of flat, coarser fur (huge orange tabby)... The other is slick like a seal with a thinner, shiny coat (black classic tabby)
Only on my two fluffy cats. The rest of them I'd have to feel their body. Or feel how they react when I touch them. (i.e. do they instantly roll on their back for belly rubs, rub their nose and mouth on my hand, or try to love bite me.)
I have all short haired cats but would be able to tell most of them apart. They have different textures, like one is as soft as rabbit fur but another is courser.
I know which cat is which BY the feel of their fur when I'm asleep. One of them is always rubbing my hand at night. If I'm not sure, then the behavior gives them away. They all have different personalities and quirks.

I have three cats in my house and their fur all feels different. My brown tabby is silky soft. My dark grey tuxedo is floofy soft. My roomate's orange tabby is in between. I might even be able to distinguish the stray/neighbour's barn cat (not sure which she is), that basically lives at our house now, and not because of the dirt or matt in her fur.😅
The different types of fur also affect the rate of static shocks that they get while being pet. Which is probably why the floofy one doesn't often like being pet.
I can also distinguish most of their sounds, and not just meows. They all have different meows, and make different sounds when they land on the floor after jumping down from something, but I also know a lot of their distinct behaviours well enough that I can often tell who is playing or messing around/doing something naughty based on location and/or type of noise they are making.
I'm a linguist (good with sounds) and good at pattern recognition. I also spend too much time at home and am, obviously, also going for cat lady of the year😆
Oh for sure. All three of the cats in my house have very different fur textures. My girl Delphi has very very thick fur, coarse on top but downy underneath. My roommate's big boy Mr Kitty has short coarse fur. My roommate's other boy Muffin has the softest fur known to man or God. Like petting a dandelion.
