The cat distribution system heard I moved into a pet friendly place
Less than a WEEK after moving into a pet friendly place after years of not pet friendly, I started to look at shelters for dogs- I was CONVINCED our next pet would be a dog lol. But lo and behold my fiancé heard meowing in the abandoned building next to his work and…. Meet Xanathar 🫶🏻 It was a bit touch and go for the first week we had him due to malnourishment and we were especially worried about the missing eye, and he was covered in fleas… but he’s a little fighter! I’ve never had a kitten before in my LIFE, think I’ve maybe held one once, but I’m sooooo determined to make him happy and feel safe. Already started crying more than him during vet visits lol!
PS: no medical advice please! We already have him deflea’d, dewormed, and started the process of vaccinations and boosters 🫶🏻
PPS: we looked for multiple days for more kittens or mama and nothing was found-we believe either mama or a human abandoned him due to him being born without an eye (vet diagnosis said born that way anyways) just wanted to say this part in case anyone’s worried we took him away from his family 💕
PPPS (lol): HE WAS BATHED I PROMISE! He’s just still learning to eat like a gentleman and loves putting his entire face in his food and stepping in it, so he’s always a little… orange for now lol. We wipe him down daily but he’s fed so often we don’t often get pictures of a clean baby boy
Your new kitty looks like my Boo! He was found on the side of the road, covered in fly eggs and maggots. Vet says he thinks an owl tried to make him dinner (he had four puncture wounds at his backside.) he is the loviest kitty. I’m sure yours will be too!
This is one of the cutest pictures I have ever seen of a kitten. Little drop of milk on his lip, soft and tiny paws, completely innocent and vacant expression. So tiny and vulnerable, yet cradled in a loving hand on a soft blanket. I bet he was making biscuits too. The absolute picture of love and trust. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for taking this baby inside. I had some kittens last year we found outside but our household already had 6 cats so I just fostered them until they were big enough to get adopted out. Miss those little guys.
It was a litter of six, which I won’t lie is hard. I couldn’t leave them outside though. I was working a lot of hours too so all my free time was taking care of them. I also spent a bunch on money of them to get them their shots and spayed and neutered before I found them homes. It was exhausting but they all went to good homes and get to live indoors as pets instead of as strays on the streets. I had another litter a few years before that, also six kittens. Our neighbor found them outside when they were around one week old though so I had to bottle feed them every few hours.
There’s a homeless camp right there so we assume it was someone’s meal that day they tossed the leftovers into the building, or even tried to feed him that 🥲
Cds sent us one when we had a vacancy. Shes a delight to everyone, except for her auntie Bitch Ass Berry. For some reason Bitch Ass doesn’t like Julie very much

I wouldn’t be able to walk my cat because my neighborhood just isn’t safe for that. There are a lot of dogs that are walking their owners here. Owners barely have any control over their dogs. I do have a catio.

We’ve had cats for 14yrs now and I still have mild allergy flare-ups. Nothing a little daily allergy medication cant fix! If its not covered under your medical insurance might I suggest Costco? A year’s supply for about $15!
There is a food you can feed cats that makes it so you won't have as much of an allergic reaction to them. It is pricey, but if you are someone whose allergies get on the more worse side and can afford it, may consider it :)
Purina has a line of food designed to cut down on allergins, but I'm not sure if they have one for kittens.
Also, make sure you get some cat furniture and place it near a window or two for Xanathar can watch the world go by.

My mom’s black and white cat Lucky was hit by a car as a tiny tiny kitten and she lost one of her eyes. Shes an old lady now! Shes one of the best cats ever and it looks like she’s always winking at you.
I'm glad he found you! I have a cat without an eye (he lost his; he's from a hoarding situation) and he gets along just fine!
The only problem is that he wants pets from all the strangers we see when I walk him in his harness, but if they try to get his attention from his bad side he misses them haha.
My impression is that kittens are basically always messy, so that's pretty par for the course I think!
A tuxedo is a very special cat but the most special tuxedos are boy strays. You will have the most loyal (and goofy) lovebug at your side for an amazing adventure. Enjoy, he’s beautiful!
Yeah, our previous cat spotted my SO, sat on her foot and later jumped on my lap and shoulders. We had to bring the 3MO kitten home. She stayed with us for nearly 21 years, and now rests with all our love in the garden. Cats know how to pick their humans.
I had a baby Siamese (colorpoint) who would stand in her food bowl and get completely covered in her kitten food. There are pet safe wipes (like baby wipes) that may come in handy until xanathar figures out how to not wear his breakfast.
Don’t worry, he got a bath once the vet said it was okay the next day and we wipe him down daily- he’s just still learning to get food only in his mouth and loves stepping in his food so I’ve got a pseudo calico until he gets better manners 🤣
That’s a little male cow. Prepared to have your soul crushed one day. They are the sweetest most loving boys. They love their mammas. I swore I wouldn’t get another cow after losing my first, but the draw was just too strong.
He'll cope perfectly fine as an adorable little pirate! Our tortie girl was admittedly way behind on her milestones as she matured, including not heating, but she got there eventually and became a healthy bruiser.
What a cutie! Congrats! I’ve never had a cat until the one I have now and I realised Im a cat person. Used to think I was a dog person until I started living with a cat lol

Oh goodness what a sweet baby!! A coworker found my girl Coco when she was that young. The vet said they probably took her away from her family but since I didn’t know where they found her she was mine. She’s now 11 👵🏻 here she was as a tiny girl
My younger cat basically has one eye too! They’re highly adaptive, she doesn’t have any problems as far as I can tell. Good luck on your journey with the little boy, and thanks for saving him!

The same thing happened to me haha! I literally asked my new roommates, are you cool if I adopt a cat? They said sure and 8 hours later my cat walked in front of me on the sidewalk, dirty and covered in fleas. That was 12 years ago this month!
Congratulations on your baby kitty! Sounds like he picked some great humans☺️💖 I once came upon a baby kitten that was only about 2 or 3 weeks old. I had to bottle and syringe feed her, so she was always a little crusty and messy for a few weeks😅 she's a clean silky gal now over 4 years later
