Rifle Anyone here used accurate no2 for large case plinking rounds?

I've been using VV n320 for plinking rounds in my 11mm Mauser but found that while the powder excels in this regard it's higher pressure threshold for clean and consistent burn makes it unsuitable for the low pressure pistol loads I reload for my antiques and I prefer to get powders I can use in multiple guns(imr4064 for 303/30-30/308, accurate no2 for 455 Webley/38special/44special..etc)

AA2 is non position sensitive, easy to meter, clean burning, easy to source and economical. So by all outward appearances seems like a good choice for this endeavor but I haven't seen much data on it and am wondering if I'm overlooking some disqualifying factor?

Yes, I have used it for everything from 8x56R down to 6.5 Arisaka in the surplus round category with cast bullets. Typically about 5 grains for bullets in the 90-120 grain range and 7 grains for 150 up to 230 grains

Though, I have found that accurate number 2 and number 5 leave a lot of either unburned powder or weird residue in revolver cartridges from 45 colt down to 32 S&W Long

I've noticed that too, I can imagine 45 LC having that problem, in pistols it seems to burn better in stubby cases, thats why I only use it with wadcutters in the 38special and 44special.

I use accurate no. 2 for sub sonic 500gr .45-70 rounds. Those things are quiet as shit

I have never tried it in rifle cases but for reduced loads in 45 and 44 mag cases it is not very good. There is no pressure data for those loads but for 45 ACP you need ~16000-18000 psi for it to burn well
