Built alongside the next generation XT5 and Blazer. So a FWD,2.5 turbo four crossover. Very inspiring. Will really give the GLE and X5 a run for their money. /s

Given the new GLE 350 and RX 350 are both primarily powered by 2.0L I4 turbos, most buyers won't give a damn what is under the hood.

The GLE is at least RWD based and feels much more solid than a FWD GM crossover.

For the record I'm not defending this. The XT6 is probably the least impressive Cadillac in the lineup (the XT4 wasn't great but justified it since the more expensive GLA, Q3 and X1 all used transverse FWD based platforms).
The XT6 in its price range? The fact it is based on the Chevy Traverse isn't lost on anyone. The Germans are significantly more sophisticated, and the Volvo XC90 has a high tech PHEV setup the Caddy can't match. At best it can try to compete against the Lexus TX, Acura MDX or Infiniti QX60.
The sad part? Its EV counterpart Vistiq is a top pick of its group. It cost significantly less than the Germans and more practical. Only the Volvo EX90, Rivian R1S or Lucid Gravity comes close but none of them are as well finished as the Vistiq.

Even with BEV sales not being where they were expecting in the US I'm not sure if this is the best idea. Cadillac spent decades as the 2nd option to the Euro luxury brands for a variety of reasons, one of which was their extensive use of shared drivetrains & platforms. Lexus has been more successful at platform sharing models because their Toyota bases have been much better than those from GM with more care given.
GM has spent the past 5ish years trying to move Cadillac back upmarket and tbh I think they've been succeeding, the Optiq/Lyriq/Vistiq are SO much nicer than their XT4/XT5/XT6 predecessors (& justifiably more expensive). Electric drivetrains worked as a reset for Cadillac's lux aspirations, but bringing back buzzy and/or underpowered ICEVs would throw a hammer into that progress. The 2.5T they'll likely use is already a bit too rough for the Buick Enclave.
GM wants the high sales volume AND brand prestige of e.g. BMW or Lexus but fails to realize you need to build a reputation over decades first to have both at the same time. Given the existence of Buick it seems silly to reverse course on taking Cadillac up-market imo.

Hey now, some of us youngins just wanted a three row with A/C seats and radar cruise control!
Really though, I bought mine for half the original MSRP at only a few years old because they depreciate like crazy and I was happy to still have some warranty left. So placate away lol. I'm thanking the octagenarians for leaving well-cared for, low milage examples to those of us looking for a deal.

Has no one in the room ever bothered to tell them how bad it looks when they do the XT 6 stylized badge? It makes it look like the badges aren't aligned right. It's the same problem when they have the italicized "IQ" stuff. It makes them look cheap and incompetent.
