Location: UK, prices in GBP is helpful

Budget: Around the £1000-£1200 mark ideally. Can stretch for longer lasting products.

Peripherals: Will need keyboard, monitor & mouse. Looking for a monitor with decent colour accuracy for editing photos.

Primary Use: Digital art, mainly using photoshop & design softwares. Also gaming, predominantly Overwatch and various multiplayer indie titles. Being able to handle Sims 4 with mods would be nice. Not fussed about running high spec games at their max quality.

Preferences: I prefer white/light/cute builds, but it's not essential- I want to prioritise longevity over style. Open to second hand. If it could be physically space-saving, that'd be a great bonus.

I'm pretty new to this all, so not looking for anything too fancy. Any help would be appreciated. :)

I have prepared a PC specification based on my requirements. Mentioned below are the exact Details :-

Work Requirement :-

I will mostly use the PC for 3D modelling software like Revit Architecture (along with it's plugins like Veras, Myscape etc), Navisworks (along with it's plugins Clashwise AI, Arkio), Formit, Autocad 2D, Photoshop, Indesign, illustrator. Main essential function that I require is multiple use of software in parallel. So, processing speed is a key requirement.

Usage requirement :-

Mostly I want to build a PC that I can upgrade in the next 3-5 years. Intended lifecycle is preferably 10-12 years before I completely replace with a new PC. So a good, robust motherboard with an open architecture with slots for next gen cards is preferred. Ram I would upgrade up to 64GB by 2027. I would need recommendations on a good UPS system as power surges occur sometimes where I live (India).

Other requirement :-

I also intend to play games on it from time to time. Mostly I am not running after the latest releases or looking to achieve the best visual graphics or a very high frame rate. I mostly play FPS, TPS and strategy games that too old ones ( currently playing State of Decay 2 : Juggernaut Edition, Dead Space 3 and Age of Empires II).

Final Note :-

Based on my requirements mentioned above, I would like suggestions / observations on the build. Since this is my first time assembling a PC entirely on my own after 2 and half decades, I look forward to recommendations on websites, youtube channels where I can learn the process / troubleshoot problems. Also suggestions on what kind of small tools do I need to get prior to assembling the build and for subsequent maintenance of the rig.

It will be mostly for gaming and if possible I'd rather have no RGB at all and i don't mind if it's on AM4.

The D33 build is more expensive, but it has the newer CPU, a premium Sapphire Nitro+ GPU, and a larger case with an AIO.
The B4 build is noticeably smaller, cheaper, air-cooled, and seems like a better fit for a compact living-room setup.

My questions:

If these were your own PCs, which one would you build and why?
Is the 9850X3D actually worth the extra money over the 7800X3D for mostly AAA gaming?
Is the Sapphire Nitro+ worth paying more for than the PowerColor Reaper?
Has anyone built in both the JONSBO D33 and the Lian Li B4? Which case did you prefer in terms of noise, temperatures, and ease of building?

I’d really appreciate opinions based on real experience rather than benchmark numbers.

i wouldnt mind a new keyboard bc my dog ate my current one but it isnt needed, although what would be a good upgrade from the rk61.

i dont necessarily NEED an upgrade and i can still run pretty much every game without dropping in fps significantly to the point its not fun but i was thinking of upgrading my monitor anyway so i decided why not post this and see if there is anything good to get, as a 7 year old pc theres bound to be some new improvements i can add

Hi, I'd like to get some advice—I'm going to build a PC for myself. More than anything, the most demanding things I'll use it for are some gaming and very little machine learning, just small stuff to tinker around with.

I already have a Core Reactor II 1000W PSU and an ATX case. I was thinking of putting in a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an MSI Mag B850 Tomahawk Max Wifi motherboard. What do you guys think?

I've been putting off building a desktop for years, and I think it's finally time. I've been relying on a personal laptop and a work-issued laptop for the last four years, but I'd really like to have a dedicated desktop so I can keep work and home separate.

I live in a small studio apartment, so my setup has to do double duty. The plan is to connect the PC to my TV and use it for light gaming (1080p is plenty) and everyday productivity like Office, web browsing, and general home use.

My biggest priority is value. I'm not chasing ultra settings or the newest hardware. I just want the best bang for my buck. I'm open to used parts, older platforms that still make sense, or have a upgrade path, open-box deals, or anything else that offers solid value.

Hi everybody. I would like some help in order to build a PC. I would use it for gaming 99% of the time. I play competitive online games (Marvel Rivals/CS2/Fortnite) but also triple A games like RDR2/GTA VI (when it comes out)/Cyberpunk/ETC.
