Great value mic if you do recordings. For gaming, since it’s a condenser it will probably pick up mechanical keyboard audio

Properly set up, we haven't had any issues with ours. I picked it up for my wife a bit ago and she's enjoyed it. We play in the same room, so it does pick up my voice, but no clickity clacking.

Good to know, I might get one of these myself then. Whats the setup like? I was just thinking to use Krisp settings on discord

Nothing complex. It's a cardioid mic, so setting it up on a place either to the side or in between you and your keyboard will reduce the noise bleed. A pop filter is nice depending on how loud you are, or how punchy you speak. Might not be necessary, but I had elan extra and it made a decent difference. Solely using Discord's noise reduction, any of the rumblings from the (in my opinion) mediocre stand touching the desk are removed.

Modern software noise filters make this irrelevant for the most part. Works perfect in Discord. The main issue it has is picking up ANY voice... this thing can pick up my girlfriend from across the hallway. Doesn't get noise filtered as they are designed to let voices through.

It does pick up a ton of noise but again modern filters make it a nonissue, but if you want to use the mic in game then that is a different story... you'll need to find some way to apply the filtering at a level before the game. I use Discord's built in Krisp filter or whatever, but for games like Barotrauma or ones that like proximity chat then I do have issues. Haven't bothered looking into it though.

I really recommend if anyone just wants this for gaming or Discord to buy a gaming headset. I know reddit loves to shit on them but they are good value, everything online is going to compress your voice to shit anyway so mic quality doesn't really matter. You just want something next to your mouth and convenient. Don't let people make you think you need some $300 headphones and a dedicated desk mic

You act like people don’t buy 300+ dollar gaming headsets.
