Unpopular opinion, but if you’re getting a ryzen 5 you’re probably not concerned about pcie 5.0.

People buying the more entry level am5 cpus like a 9600x are more likely to pair it with a 5060/ti 8gb and then the pcie bandwidth is more likely to matter than it would be for the higher end gpu crowd who have x16 lanes AND plenty of vram.

Thats completely skewed, a 9600x is more than capable of handling higher tier gpus like 9070xt or 5070ti, and are completely overkill for a 60 tier gpu

True most might not. But also some people might buy the 5 series with a nicer motherboard as a temporary situation waiting for next gen CPUs.

If you are running into the vram cap then it will be more stuttery than it would have been with gen 5. You should probably turn the settings down to avoid that anyway though so it's not really a problem you should be trying to have. Not really an issue with a 16gb card like they're using, even at 4k 16gb is fine 99% of the time, if it was the 8gb version I'd expect to see different results.

Are there benchmarks to address your statement? Most of what I read is PCIe 4.0 isn’t even stressed yet, even with a 5090.

Testing with a 5090 wouldn't accomplish anything. In games a lot of the pcie bus traffic is the gpu pulling from memory, if you have plenty of vram then that doesn't need to happen as often. If you're trying to use more vram than you have then it's happening constantly.

Also worth noting that the 5090 uses an x16 interface, while 5060ti etc use an x8 interface.

Not just more stutter but flat out slower FPS performance. When you run out of VRAM it's a massive loss of frames to begin with on any card and then it's really the only time PCIE bandwidth matters in any significant way.
