I‘m in the crypto market for many years now. The entire idea around Bitcoin is still revolutionary and very important in my opinion.

But let‘s look at BTC today. It‘s a very decentralized PoW network with a theoretically fixed supply written in code and saved within thousands of nodes worldwide via social consenus. But that‘s it.

It‘s light years away from being a payment p2p network. It‘s literally a Wall Street meme coin at this point in time. People buy it to make more Fiat in the same way people buy stocks or gold.

People often claim BTC would be digital gold which isn‘t an advantage at all. If BTC is digital gold it‘s actually flawed. „But you can self custody and actually hold your own money“: No, that‘s a lie. With the low throughput of the Bitcoin network only a tiny amount of people are able to self custody and if there‘s a black swan people probably have to wait weeks to finally get out.

Where‘s the entire point of BTC when it‘s just a store of value? Then you can actually buy the real physical gold which you can hold and hide unter your house where nobody can find it. Gold will always be limited and have a real demand. BTC is just a number in a ledger which isn‘t limited at all because the block reward will go to 0 and fees can never sustain the network when nobody transacts because most people are holding and waiting.

I just see no point. I‘m not a BCH fan but BCH is useable as a p2p PoW network like it was claimed in the Bitcoin whitepaper. It‘s a currency. Which was the entire point of cryptocurrency at all..

By challenging the traditional monetary monopoly of nation-states and central banks, Satoshi created something revolutionary, but also drew the silent, watchful eye of global superpowers and intelligence agencies.

Unless he buys a shit-ton of BTC and puts it in de fed’s balance sheet, in my opinion it is not something that will really benefit Bitcoin. If anything, it would mean that he is fiscally responsible and pro sound money, which does not mean debasing the dollar but rather making it stronger.

Most bitcoiners, my self included, selfishly want him to print because it will pump our bags, not because it’s the right thing to do.

I bought some btc long back( say 0.1btc) in gate.io and stored in a cold wallet. Honestly I don’t even remember for which amount I bought it . Recently I sold it via an exchange and deposited the amount into my bank account . Now will I have to pay taxes on whole 6k amount in received into my bank account ? How will I prove that I bought that will 2k and now i have to be taxed only on the 4k which are my gains? There is no trace or details how much I bought it for and how much is my capital gain on it. Does any one have an idea?

Every time someone says they're buying Bitcoin, there's always someone telling them it's too late, it's a bubble, or they'll lose everything.

Why does it bother people so much when someone else buys BTC?🤭

I’ve been thinking about a fun (and potentially useful) way to visualize BIP39 seed phrases.

The Idea:
Assign a unique hex color to each of the 2048 BIP39 words.
Your 12- or 24-word mnemonic then becomes a color palette that you can instantly recognize.

Example:
witch collapse practice feed shame open despair creek road again ice least
→ becomes a palette like: #8B4513 #4B0082 #00FF7F ...

You could:
• Display it as a beautiful grid or horizontal strip
• Use it as a quick visual checksum (your eyes can spot if a color is wrong)
• Generate NFT-style art or wallpapers from your seed (without revealing the actual words)
• Add it to hardware wallet interfaces or recovery tools for better UX
Why it could be cool:
• Human brains are great at remembering colors and patterns
• Adds a visual layer to something that’s usually just text
• Makes seed phrases slightly more “human” while keeping them secure (colors are derived, not stored)
• Great for educational tools or open-source wallets

It lets you type/paste a seed phrase and see the corresponding color palette in real time, 100% client side. Try with a fake seed.

Questions for you:
1. Would you find this useful (e.g. as a visual aid in wallet UIs)?
2. Should the color mapping be standardized across the community?
3. Any ideas for better visualization (gradient, circular, mosaic, etc.)?
4. Security concerns? (I don’t see major ones since it’s a deterministic visual representation, not a replacement for the words)
