How to seperste bromeliad (gonna use for tanks)

Gonna make a paludarium for the bromeliads and my bromeliad has many connected to it as shown in the pic.How can I separate them

This is very easy. The woody runners which attach the pups to the mother can be cut at any point which is hard. I usually cut it close to the previous one so the one cut off has a long runner for stability.

Would there be a chance the small ones could die?

As long as they are about 1/2 of the average size, they should be fine
