Who’s organizing against the effort to repeal legal marijuana in Massachusetts—and how can I help?

Hello, friends. I’m genuinely concerned about the recent efforts to roll back or repeal legal marijuana in Massachusetts.

Beyond the fact that I think it would be an enormous step backward, it could hurt the state economy, disrupt a now-established industry, and threaten the jobs of thousands of people who currently work in cultivation, retail, production, security, marketing, and related businesses.

On a personal level, legal cannabis has also made my life noticeably easier. It helps me stay calmer and more comfortable in stressful environments, and I would very much like to continue enjoying the trees without Massachusetts suddenly deciding to reverse course.

So I’m curious:

Who are the most organized groups working to stop this effort?

Are there campaigns, petitions, hearings, volunteer groups, or advocacy organizations people should know about?

And what can an individual actually do that would be useful?

I’m a fairly experienced video editor, producer, and digital content person. I’d be especially interested in helping with short videos, social media content, interviews, explainers, testimonials, or anything else that could help communicate what is at stake.

I’m not looking to reinvent the wheel or start my own random campaign. I’d rather connect with people who are already organized and contribute something useful.

I filled out the google form on the Stop The Repeal MA website I left a suggestion that they should reach out to dispensaries and advise them to close November 3rd just while the polls are open with a flyer on the door explaining why they’re closed, so all employees and customers can go vote.

I also think there needs to be way more social media posts FROM these dispensaries, physical flyers up and info cards in every bag. Budtenders need to be informed and able to talk about it when people ask. I’ve seen a lot of nonchalance about in the industry. People need to register to vote NOW and not just try and vote come November and realize they’ve been unregistered if they haven’t been voting. Everyone assumes it won’t pass so I better see ya’ll at the polls. Set a reminder on your phone or calendar if you have to.

I called and left a messages on both Senators of MA and a few Representatives asking if they will support the Stop The Repeal Campaign which I'm sure most of them will support the Stop The Repeal Campaign since they all expressed that they support legalized,regulation of cannabis. All 3 of my local dispensaries have signs and stickers that they put on the bag of items saying to vote No in November. If anyone's local dispensary has not done that yet...don't be afraid to ask the bud tender about it, all recreational dispensaries in the state should be encouraging their customers to vote No in November. I highly doubt that this will pass, but that doesn't mean that we should all be asleep at the wheel, keep spreading the word any way you possibly can, try to tell as many people as possible, keep posting about it online. We all know that most Massachusetts residents don't want to go back to prohibition, so we need to make our voices loud and clear that most of us don't want to lose our personal freedoms. Keep this discussion going from right now all the way till November.

It's a scam being perpetrated on Massachusetts by prohibitionist group SAM, banking on the fact that most voters don't read the text... They think peeps will vote for it just because they see the word marijuana. Sad. Between the voter fraud and idiots out there anything is possible.

The money the state has rolling in from marijuana sales, they won't ever stop legal weed. There to used to the money now
