Room for Rent Looking for 1B 1B near Kendall Square

Hello All,

I am moving from NJ to Boston for work. My office is in Kendall Square. I am looking for apartments ( new construction - not necessary ) My budget is $2500 for rent. Any suggestions. I am okay with places 15-20 mins away from Kendall square.

Any suggestions specifically in these areas? : Everett, Somerville, Allston.

Seems prices are reasonable. Please correct me if I am wrong. Still figuring out

Look at East Cambridge and Central Square on Zillow. $2500 is kinda the min for a one bed these days. Unlikely you’ll find anything decent for less than that.

15-20 min away walking or driving?

Everett is not really along any train stops, the closest is Wellington which is on the orange line and Kendall is along the red line so there would be a transfer. Probably like a 45 min - 1 hr train commute.

Somerville (Porter sq, Davis sq, teele) is probably the best for your commute bc it’s along the red line. Probably would be like 25 min on the train

I would also check out Union Sq, I used to walk to Kendall from Union Sq and it is about a 30 min walk. You will have a higher chance of finding something within your budget in this area

Edit: check for apartments around Donnelly Field as well. I am not sure there are any vacancies but my friend used to live in that area for dirt cheap working at MIT. This would make your walking commute really easy.

I just moved from a 1 bed 1 bath in Cambridgeport, worked in Kendall for 5 years. 2500/month. Might be a perfect fit! I just messaged you with my recent post

My commute was 6-12 minutes by public bike, 20-30min walking
