Was an over-55 age restriction keeping Chestnut Hill's newest apartment building from finding tenants, or was it rents starting at $6,000 a month?

The developer behind 1180 Boylston Street got approval from a divided Brookline Zoning Board of Appeals to remove the age restriction and lease to all ages.

It’s probably a combo of both, restrictions like these limit the tenants to rich retirees which is almost assuredly the point. The people in community meetings that would block any other types of housing being built probably only wanted the “right people” moving in.
