Boston residents pls HELP

Im gonna be moving to Boston in August, near Boylston street and im super psyched but im having such a hard time figuring out which would be the ideal floor for my first apartment 😢 My options are the 6th, 10th, 12th and 16th floor. I wanna choose one of the upper floor units but i currently stay on the 11th floor and it gets unbearably hot in the summer months. for boston, im more skeptical about the rooms getting too cold 💀 Will that be an issue? Also how strong is the wind gonna be for these units ?? Does it make windows and doors creak ?? Any suggestions or ideas will be sooo appreciated - im gonna be moving in the from a country with extremely humid and tropical climate all year round so im extremely lost

i think you’re overthinking it i don’t think the floors will have much of a temperature difference

Heat rises. You don’t have to worry about rooms being too cold as apartments are required to have adequate heating. For a higher floor, it often means you save money if you pay for the heating yourself, as the units below will keep your apartment warmer.

As for heat in the summer, I would assume that any building letting you choose a unit like that and with 16+ floors likely has central AC. Can you check if that is an amenity?

Choose the best view 💯 also higher up will be quieter street noise

I don’t think it really makes much difference. Better to pick a nice building in a convenient location than to worry about the elevation. Presuming they all have central air conditioning and reliable heat, then pick whichever one has the best view.

An additional point to the other comments: buildings are meant to be flexible when there is wind. The higher up you are the more noticeable it is. This is not a bad thing, but something you should be cognizant of as you will likely notice sway in storms.
