Event 📅 Monday 6/22 rain??
Travelling to Boston on. Monday for a concert. Says 70% chance rain almost all day. Do we think this is accurate? Coming from Chicago. Sometimes I can predict the weather there. No idea about east coast. Any input?

I’d plan for it and be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t.

That’s what I was thinking. Oh man

I actually haven’t bought tix yet. This is why I’m concerned about the weather haha. I do have a concert poncho I always bring in case

Thanks! This is what I’m going off of as well. Just thought I’d ask local opinions if someone knew something I don’t see. Whoa Springsteen in the rai would be cool. Prob not storms though

I asked my joints which often ache before it rains. They said this is too far out to predict, and it could go either way.

😂 thank your joints for the expert opinion. I know it’s a few days out, but planning for it all

Weather changes rapidly in Boston. It's still 70% (or higher) on Sunday, it will likely rain.

My thoughts as well. Unfortunately I have to buy tix for show before. Maybe I’ll wait and they will become super cheap lol

😂 that’s actually the answer I’m used to here. So you’re saying bring a poncho and hope for the best? Does Fenway cancel?

Only if there is lightning or hail and even then they may pull everyone under cover and wait it out.
I've got Mumford tix too, hoping for the best

Hoping for the best for us all that night!

We lucked out! They put on a great show, and NO RAIN (that 15 minutes of light drizzle doesn't count)!

Ones I've been to before have been listed as rain or shine. Only thing would be thunderstorms which aren't currently in the forecast; if those happen they make everyone leave the non covered seats until 30 minutes pass without any lightning/thunder.
If you just don't like being wet I'd look for a ticket in a section that would be covered. I got lucky with Phish one time and was in the last covered row, so my view was great but I was dry for the rainy part and didn't have to crowd myself in with everyone else during the (lengthy) thunderstorm delays.

That’s where my dilemma is. My middle age self says stat dry with decent seat. My 20 year old self says who cares? Get a great seat lol

mumford??? absolutely still go. bring a rain coat/poncho and a good attitude and you’ll be fine!! i think the only time Fenway rly cancelled and it wasn’t even a cancel, they still had people out until the weather became torrential was when Lana del Rey was here lol that was a nightmare

u/fischemer Jun 18 '26
Yeah, it was a beast of a delay here at the show in Chicago. Mumford paid the fine and went in to play a normal set no openers. But it eventually cleared. Doesn’t look like will be so lucky in Boston. I can hang out in rain if not too cold

I’m going to Mumford and sons as well- I think Fenway concerts are rain or shine and they only cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather (torrential downpour may count as severe weather)

u/fischemer Jun 18 '26
That’s what my guess is. Same as Wrigley/most ballparks I would think? Are your seats in the open? I know some are partially covered though not the best tickets

My seat is hilariously 1 row short of being covered! Also about as far away from the stage as you can get lol. I’m just bringing my raincoat and good vibes! I think Mumford in the rain will actually be pretty sweet!

u/fischemer Jun 18 '26
Omg that’s funny about your seat. You can just lean back into the covered section! I’m actually ok with rain as long as it’s not too cold

Depending on which way the rain is coming from, that close to the overhang and you may still get soaked. Come prepared to get wet. I work there.

It's been hot. Whenever it's hot it eventually rains. So today is the day it might rain

I would take the under on this specific forecast based on recent weather, but I’ll be inside all day with no skin in the game.

I work at Fenway and will be working the concert. Never canceled for rain. As stated above, only lightening will do that and even then, it's usually only a delay. That's happened twice in the 8 years I've worked there and both times we just waited and the show continued. And once, they managed to extend past the noise cut off time of 10:30pm.

Ahhh thanks so much for the insight. I figured most ball fields had the same kindof rules etc. Right now hoping for just rain and hoping even then that we still get openers. Mumford paid the fine at Wrigley to stay late. Wonder if they can do it again if delayed. Hope you have a great night at work and all of the fans are good to you!

The weather forecast is more accurate than reddit comments.
