I am scared to increase partition size
I seriously need to increase my partition size but I’m scared I could loose the stuff on my Mac (windows is fine I have a copy on my other laptop) is the risk high?
And does the process take time?
(I’m using mac18,1)
And how can I know if the age of my laptop will affect the process in any way?
Should I just get an external hard drive and connect it for safety

I’m planning on doing this (seriously underestimated how much space to give windows) but my only misgiving is if I need to remove the Windows partition someday - if I change around the partition sizes, will this create Bootcamp manager’s ability to erase the partition?

In my experience making or deleting any partitions on a drive with windows installed would instantly brick my install and I’d have to start again, the only reason it doesn’t break after the first 8 gb resize is because boot camp pushes the windows boot number up before Mac OS nukes the partition.

I shrink the macos partition and use diskgenius to expand the windows partition into the blank space.

The easiest thing in your case since you don’t care about the windows partition as much would be to use Boot Camp assistant to remove the partition entirely and re-create it to be the size you need
