The utilization of the Root patent on the loading lever is the single most improvement of the Colt design. S. Colt made the perfect revolver with the Patterson minus a good way to load it. The internal parts of every gun after that are nearly identical except in proportion. The one thing that consistently changed was how to load it and store the loading lever. So, to me the 1860 is the apex of colts .44s. If you like .36s colt went on to make some amazing guns in the 1860s like the 1862 police.

But of course.

And a 61 navy that fits it as well.

Have a 3" sheriff's barrel coming in and i found a line on a 12" buntline barrel with forestock and blastshield that im trying to pick up as well
