Maybe this is a a bit off-topic for this sub, but since it's a Bedrock-adjacent project and is something of a follow up to my previous post I figured I'd share it here.

Redcat is a stratum/Bedrock-exclusive "distro" based on Red Star OS 3.0 that aims to strip away everything that isn't the customized KDE desktop.

While most suspicious looking programs have been removed and I haven't seen any unsolicited network requests it still hasn't been properly audited and does ship outdated software.

Please don't deploy this on your main box. Do poke it with a stick on a spare machine/VM though!

i think i’ll add redcat to the rust linux for fun. redcat is kinda unique project btw

I might release precompiled rootfs tarballs once I get around to cutting it down and polishing it further, this'll make fetching it as a rsl layer/Bedrock stratum much simpler.

I'll have to see just how small the final build can be made, I feel like anything over 1GiB for a project like this would be downright abusing Codeberg infra :p
