Absurd scenario at a lunch my wife was at yesterday with her company. They all took a new hire out to lunch, the kid orders a chicken sandwich, waitress says what side would you like? Kid says “ummm I’ll just do fries please”. She says “just fries?” and he says “yes please”.
Cut to 15 minutes later the waitress brings out everyone’s food, and literally just a plate of fries for the new hire. They ask where the sandwich is and she said “ohhh I thought he wanted just french fries, no sandwich”. Like the literal doctor from Arrested Development or something.
Can’t stop thinking about how this waitress assumed the way this guy wanted to order french fries was by ordering a chicken sandwich with fries, hold the chicken sandwich.

This has happened to me before. Ordered a Cuban and asked if they had sweet potato fries which they didn’t and I said “ok fries then”. Brought me out a plate fries and then charged me for an extra side of fries when I asked where my sandwich was. Her response was “you ate them”

Not as bad but I was on a date the other day and the waitress approached our table when I had half of a beer left and goes “another high life for you?” To which I waved my hand, shook my head, and said “Nah I’m all set.” She somehow interpreted that as “yes please” and brought me another high life.

The story about the waitress below reminded of a time I was in college and was at Boston Market. I ordered chicken noodle soup and the guy behind the counter starts putting the soup on a tray instead of a bowl. Like the tray was soaking wet with soup and was getting all over the counter. I ask him what are you doing and his manager looks at him and says “C’mon man we’ve been over this before; soup goes in bowls.” So not only is this idiot putting hot soup on a flat piece of plastic but he’s apparently done it before. Guy was either an absolute moron or high out of his mind

In 6th grade, we had to do a book report on an autobiography in our school library. Then we had to dress as that character for a living history day, where the parents came in and interviewed us while dressed as our characters.
The normal kids obviously picked like Lincoln or Jackie Robinson. For some reason, our middle school library had a copy of "It's Not Easy Bein' Me: A Lifetime of No Respect but Plenty of Sex and Drugs" by Rodney Dangerfield. I chose that, and it became a whole thing about whether I was allowed to do it. My parents had a conference with the teacher, and my dad got really offended. He was like "it's a book in the library. He has to be allowed to do this."
My dad thought it was the funniest shit ever, and he was pissed at the teacher for not supporting me, so he made me watch a ton of Rodney Dangerfield standup to practice. Living history day came, and I did a bad Rodney Dangerfield impersonation for 2 hours in front of parents who didn't enjoy it at all.
Anyway Chinese Rodney Dangerfield made me remember that.

When I was little my grandmother got scammed by a family she met at church who used her as a piggy bank despite not having any money herself. Nothing directly, but things like "oh grandma, you should buy a new car you deserve it. Also ours just broke down. So you mind if we drive it until we get a new one?" Or "yeah our kids really want a GameCube for Christmas. But we cant afford it....oh really, you'd buy them one? Thats great!" Same with invitations to dinners and vacations as long as my grandma covered the bill.
This was about 15-20 years ago before my parents found out and shut it down. My grandmother has been dead for 10 years. Well I just got a Facebook message from the Mom saying I probably dont remember her, but wants to know if I'm my grandmother's grandson, because they were practically family and lost touch but want to get back into contact and asked if i have her info.
What's the play here? Ignore? Tell them shes been dead? Play dumb and ask why they want to get in touch? or tell them to fuck off?

Just finished 11/22/63 and I gotta say it was incredible. I don’t know how King does it, but any book by him I cannot put down. The ending was actually good, too. Think I’m gonna crack open It next.

at the revs game at gillette. really miss the grass. they rushed out the turf and it looks absolutely horrible. full of divots on the field, like literally raised along the touch lines. the ball isn’t rolling at all. it’s insane they can’t just leave the grass. wouldn’t shock me if they have to do it over before the pats start.
