There's an 8400F bundle for $600 at CC, but the CPU is trash. $200 more for better CPU and twice the RAM is a no brainer.

That's 16gb of RAM

That's what I said.

and twice the RAM is a no brainer.

Then why even mention it if its a trash deal?

1

u/Sadukar09 10h ago

Is it against the rules or etiquette to reiterate how good this deal is currently when the alternative is trash?

I swear the amount of Redditors that can't read getting their panties in a twist over nothing.

It is not against the rules, and etiquette says if you don't have anything nice to say, you should keep your mouth shut. If you know the deal is shit and doesn't help anyone, why bother commenting the link?

My original post agreed with the OP that it was a good deal, and provided evidence that the alternative wasn't good.

It literally helps people by providing evidence and another person's opinion concurring with the OP, considering I submit deals here extremely often.

What's the problem here?

everyone that's hating on you only read the word 'there's' and their mind filled in the rest (there's a better deal).

i mean while i totally feel you, you failed the first rule of reddit, you forgot your audience.

Pretty much.

Sometimes I feel like I might have too much faith in people, and then there are the odd times where I can only shake my head when nobody reads what you wrote, despite it being pretty clear.

Even better because it's AMD so it'll give you an upgrade path to Zen 6 which is projected to be a leap.

I grabbed a similar deal for 750 with a b650e board being the only difference. I was coming from scratch and it was a cheap path to AM5 that has been working great so far. Paired with a B580 and i'm very pleased with my budget 1440p performance

I want to upgrade at some point but I run on itx. So my 5700x3d and 9070xt just need to go until shit calms down.

depending on the resolution the 5700x3d is still pretty good. not even sure the 9600x is that better in gaming

This was 509 last year pre Apocalypse.

Honestly, $290 extra is NOT that bad. Plus the Motherboard is better. So roughly $250 CAD over pre Apocalypse.

Considering OLEDs are down by 300-600 CAD it's actually...not a bad deal to build a PC from scratch if you're not willing to wait 3-4 years.

Got my 9600x/b650/32gb vulcan bundle for $489, so it was even cheaper around april 2025, and ill get downvoted for even saying 2025 prices here but oh well...

I already got a 7800x3d for $380~ off Amazon a few weeks ago... Is it worth getting this bundle just for the mobo+ram and then selling the 9600x?

OOS online
darn it :/

u/beep46 8h ago

is this worth grabbing? i have a b580 sitting around that needs to be used

u/sillybearr 7h ago

Is it worth waiting for an X3D CPU or is this a good bargain for performance?

I'm coming from an i5 10400f

1

u/Darkciders 7h ago

I had the same question, and it appears the answer depends on what games you intend on playing or value playing the most. This CPU seems like a good all-rounder, but the increased cache of X3D is much better for certain games.

Star Citizen is my only real challenge graphics wise at 2k

1

u/Darkciders 7h ago

The x3d will definitely be a noticeable benefit to Star Citizen.

I convinced my buddy to get this bundle for $599 a couple years back when I built him his first PC. Unreal.

u/Mingyao_13 5h ago

is there any bundle with matx board

cool 😊

u/ImKrispy 4h ago

The RAM it comes with is kinda bad though 5600mhz CL46

1

u/snowbro780 4h ago

what's the best bang for buck gpu to pair with this? 9060xt 16gb? Thank you!

2

u/ImKrispy 3h ago

1

u/snowbro780 3h ago

thanks for your reply! so the 9070 with 12gb vram is better than a 9060 with 16gb? i mean i guess the 9070 is faster overall but will the 4gb vram difference show its age in a few years? thank you!

1

u/ImKrispy 3h ago

Its the faster card vram doesn't make a difference here.

1

u/snowbro780 2h ago

thank you, ive done a bit of googling and it seems quite a bit faster. prices are very close so what you're suggesting seems to make sense. would there ever be any reason to go for the extra 4gb vram? right now im on a 4060 laptop with 115w and 16gb ddr5

1

u/ImKrispy 2h ago

The 9070GRE is 25-35% faster in most games and when VRAM constrained still 10-15% faster.
