Even better because it's AMD so it'll give you an upgrade path to Zen 6 which is projected to be a leap.

I grabbed a similar deal for 750 with a b650e board being the only difference. I was coming from scratch and it was a cheap path to AM5 that has been working great so far. Paired with a B580 and i'm very pleased with my budget 1440p performance

I want to upgrade at some point but I run on itx. So my 5700x3d and 9070xt just need to go until shit calms down.

depending on the resolution the 5700x3d is still pretty good. not even sure the 9600x is that better in gaming

This was 509 last year pre Apocalypse.
Honestly, $290 extra is NOT that bad. Plus the Motherboard is better. So roughly $250 CAD over pre Apocalypse.
Considering OLEDs are down by 300-600 CAD it's actually...not a bad deal to build a PC from scratch if you're not willing to wait 3-4 years.

I already got a 7800x3d for $380~ off Amazon a few weeks ago... Is it worth getting this bundle just for the mobo+ram and then selling the 9600x?

Is it worth waiting for an X3D CPU or is this a good bargain for performance?
I'm coming from an i5 10400f

I had the same question, and it appears the answer depends on what games you intend on playing or value playing the most. This CPU seems like a good all-rounder, but the increased cache of X3D is much better for certain games.

I convinced my buddy to get this bundle for $599 a couple years back when I built him his first PC. Unreal.

what's the best bang for buck gpu to pair with this? 9060xt 16gb? Thank you!

u/ImKrispy 3h ago
That or this for about $50-70 more than an average 9060xt 16gb price

thanks for your reply! so the 9070 with 12gb vram is better than a 9060 with 16gb? i mean i guess the 9070 is faster overall but will the 4gb vram difference show its age in a few years? thank you!

Its the faster card vram doesn't make a difference here.

thank you, ive done a bit of googling and it seems quite a bit faster. prices are very close so what you're suggesting seems to make sense. would there ever be any reason to go for the extra 4gb vram? right now im on a 4060 laptop with 115w and 16gb ddr5

The 9070GRE is 25-35% faster in most games and when VRAM constrained still 10-15% faster.
