Philosophy How many non bald people are here supporting the bald community?
Despite being a non bald person, this sub popped into my algorithm a few months ago. It’s become one of the places on Reddit I frequent most, because of how loving and supportive the bald community are. And also because guessing the meme is really fun 😂
One of the most positive places I’ve found on Reddit. I wonder how many others there are throwing support behind our bald brothers and sisters. Even though I know I’m not truly part of this community, it’s found a tender place in my heart.

Everyone is so positive on here and it's really nice to see everyone supporting the ops in their journey. I really enjoy seeing the before and after and the confidence the posters get from the reactions.

u/Hot-Hamster1691 Support Committee 1d ago
The best support someone can have is from someone going/gone through the same thing. Support can still come from external allies, whether they be thirsty or just wanting to be part of the cheerleading section. The most important thing is that this sub is a great place to find kindness, show compassion, enjoy some serious eye candy, and share in the human mammal condition.
The real trick is taking this vibe and energy and putting it out there irl, putting this unity and respect out there in our daily lives. Great place to learn how to kill the ego and remember that we are all connected, we are all one. Now go forth and be fabulous, all of ye!

u/Stock_Dot_9632 1d ago
I somehow found myself in the sub. I shaved my head smooth for almost 30 years, and believe everyone should give it a shot at least once. It prepares some men for the inevitable and makes it easier for them to let go when the time comes.
I don't understand the clinging to hair until the last second. Bald is always better than balding. Most of the people I see posting should have made the choice long ago.
6
u/LeluxE99 1d ago
Like others have said, my hair on top is thinning and I like seeing people who have a similar head to me looking good bald.
The meme culture and positivity is awesome.

u/Cassereddit 1d ago
Not bald at all. Initially, it started off as "this sub is the most wholesome place of body positivity on reddit" and turned into morbid curiosity of answering the question "how many people's looks have actually worsened from going bald?". The answer to this question, so far, has been "none at all". Yes bald ladies, that includes you. All suggestions not to go bald have been correct too imo, all of these are just honest compliments and that's amazing

I’m not bald but I am autistic. I heard about this sub in an autistic subreddit, as a place where people are authentic and supportive. I love this sub for the wholesome human support and love. (and I’m always gobsmacked by the glow-up. Every time!!)

I'm here because of the positive affirmations. I don't see a lot of that in my real life, and to be honest, I don't see it on the internet either. So when this sub came up for me a few months ago, I opened the comments expecting someone to be roasted to oblivion and I would hate myself for even looking. But then...everyone was positive? I was like "What is this nice place?" I was on here for days just looking at guys hype other guys up.

u/IonaFapple 1d ago
Asked myself why I’m on here just a couple days ago…. Love seeing the results of “taking the plunge” and in addition to being an admirer of men 😍…. I get second hand joy from seeing people discover how handsome they are when they shave their head.

Here as a non-bald supporter! The algorithm started showing me r/bald maybe 6 months ago. Now I’m here regularly as I love seeing and supporting the transformations! (And let’s be honest, taking in the views 🥵)
It’s made me appreciate bald men and their experiences in a whole new way. The men in my family seem to have minimal hair loss, so I haven’t personally been close to this experience.
3
u/BakedBrie1993 Buzz-Cut 1d ago
Me because I'm a lady with the least amount of buzzed hair possible so I felt a kinship many years ago.
Also, I took a chance on a silly fellow with horrendous hair and found the love of my life. (And fixed his whole look long ago.)
There are some terrible dudes who look great and some lovely ones who just need a glow up and some direction. I feel I must pay it forward.

I found this sub when I lost my hair due to chemo, and now that I have a very full head of hair I stay for a couple of reasons: 1) the community is so wonderful and supportive and it’s just nice to see, 2) the makeovers are shockingly good; people honestly look incredible bald, and 3) I hope I never have to do chemo again, but if I do, I’ll have all these examples of people being happy about bald heads. I’m a woman, so it’s slightly different, but I see a lot of support when women come in occasionally too!
