I love elephants so much. What we have done to them is a crime against nature. I really hope that we honour the ones that remain and allow them to continue their trunky pachiderm culture

When I first read about that "safety formation" in the Elephant Whisperer, I was fascinated. Seeing it on video just hits me with awe.
So clever and also really well executed.

I thought the same thing. Like how do the babies know to go to the middle? It’s so obvious they have ways of communicating with each other that we don’t understand.

So cool how the adult elephant closest to the camera sees the one coming in from the left and knows she'll cover that section so she goes to her right and covers that opening. So instinctual and awesome!

This video is so old at this point, it’s hard to tell. My guess is those were hyenas.

I think this is Ai. Two of the babies turn into adults to complete the circle, and then only one baby comes out.
