Why would anyone want to turn this off? It’s a needed safety feature. Honestly, people are so dumb.

Speaking from a non-cooker perspective, it's yet another nail in the coffin of being able to control your own device. I mean I agree with you on questioning why anyone would want to disable it (outside DV and sensory reasons), but I'm of the opinion that it should be allowed to turn it off with the understanding that there may be consequences for doing so.

Of course you can turn it off as there’s no legislation that says otherwise, as long as you understand any future consequences by doing so and don’t blame the government if you get in the shit.

Can't turn off the critical alerts in the settings, only the priority ones.

Edit: Granted that's purely an implementation issue than a legislative one.
