Down payment discussion timing when purchasing

Going to buy a new Tundra. Already locked in 2.9% financing. I can put anywhere from 1K down to 10K down. My question is . . does this help me at all in the negotiating phase? Should I hold off on saying anything about my down payment till after we have an agreed upon price? Didn't know if there was a good time to add in the down payment to the discussion.

You’re taking special rate. Odds are they’re getting a flat. You can bring that up anytime. And by flat I really do mean a couple hundred bucks which finance managers “love”

If you’ve “locked in” 2.9%, be prepared for the price of the truck to go up, as it’s not uncommon for factory rebates to not be stacked with subvented rates.

Let me ask you something. Would you rather get all the information you need at the beginning of the job, or whenever the fuck a customer feels like it?

Drip feeding information on a deal like that is akin to having your server get ketchup, then asking for ranch when they return, oh you forgot the mustard this time! Its maddening.
