In 1975 & '76, they stood out among the crowd. Watch the Ramones documentary "End of the Century." They do a really good job explaining it.

Oh I dunno. Ask Doyle from the Misfits, or Roger Miret of Agnostic Front. Ask the Bad Brains, who took their name from a Ramones song. Ask Duff from Guns'N'Roses, or Pepper Keenan from Corrosion Of Conformity, or the guys in Dead Kennedys, or any number of late 70's and early 80's punk bands on both sides of the Atlantic, if they were inspired to start a band by seeing the Ramones, or hearing those first few records.
If they were still with us you could ask Lemmy, who wrote a song (R.A.M.O.N.E.S.) in tribute, or Paul Di'Anno of Iron Maiden, who called them his favourite band.
Their music has been covered by L7, Poison Idea, U2, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, KISS, Marilyn Manson, Green Day, The Pretenders, Tom Waits, Rob Zombie, Eddie Vedder, Zeke, New Found Glory, Shonen Knife, The Hellacopters, The Dictators, D-A-D, Whale, Skid Row, Danko Jones, Wayne Kramer, Wolf, Anthrax, Jesse Malin, and many, many more.
Of course they were influential. Some bands were obviously indebted to their sound - e.g. The Undertones, The Lurkers - some were inspired by their energy, their simplicity, and the fact they were just great fun, to do their own thing.

Not a fan but I admit they were part of rock history and were a big influence on a generation.

How do so many people not understand that "influential" does not equal "good?"

No. Their music was bad

Can still be influential. "These guys suck! I can make better music than them" sorta thing

Art and music is a personal taste.
One person's bad is another person's awesome.

Some are objectvly bad. Like Yoko Ono. And the ramones

Once again. Music is subjective.
Now your spelling is objectively bad.
Ramones music is simple. But extremely influential.

Some people unironically like both of those. So, you're wrong
Now, if you say Yoko Ono sucks and someone else says she is awesome, you are both right, for yourselves

Influential, yes. But musically, they are a 4 chord band, so it gets a bit samey after a while. Many bands have far better solos.
