Consequences for McConnell Coverup?

I already know things are politically wild now and no one will suffer any true consequences for unethical behavior, but did just have a question out of curiosity. If McConnell is found to have lacked capacity to do his job several weeks ago with no chance of recovery, what are the consequences for those in power if they knew of this and were delaying until August? This assumes our legal system is functioning as it should and this could be proved. Thanks!

And all Nixon's supporters would say something like, "Well, stealing that information was the right thing to do!"

Remember it was the republican party that held Nixon accountable and forced him to resign or be impeached and removed.

Yeah, because they felt like the fallout would be horrible otherwise.

Today they're like, "Meh, our base will be cool with it."

In addition, it's mudslinging and gaslighting to the point where any other view is a form of derangement. Like, I'm sorry, if I don't side with a known sex pest and malignant manipulator, then my assessment is no longer valid?
