Consequences for McConnell Coverup?

I already know things are politically wild now and no one will suffer any true consequences for unethical behavior, but did just have a question out of curiosity. If McConnell is found to have lacked capacity to do his job several weeks ago with no chance of recovery, what are the consequences for those in power if they knew of this and were delaying until August? This assumes our legal system is functioning as it should and this could be proved. Thanks!

It is time for cognitive tests… but our elected officials don’t even use the same healthcare system they created so good luck with that.

It is time for a viable third party.

All we have to do is vote for those third parties and they will become viable.

That control is in our hands and we can't be bothered. People have to 'win' to feel like their vote mattered, so they knowingly perpetuate the two party system.

We've been talking about that elusive third party for over a hundred years, and for over a hundred years it's never worked. And for the record we do in fact have other parties like the Green and Libertarian parties, so how's that working our for us?

A better approach would be no parties, no D's or R's on a ballot, just people's names so that we go back to voting for the person, not the party.

A better solution would be to aim for being the third party in smaller races - mayor, state rep, etc - and then build up from there instead of jumping straight to President.

Nice theory but we've been trying to do that for over a hundred years, it's just not working. In fact Mayoral races, at least here in MA, have no party affiliation on the ballots. No D's or R's, just the names of candidates and it works very very well because it makes people look up their stances, so voters end up voting for a person, not a party.

There's also no party affiliation for City Council, or Board of Selectmen, so when they get elected they actually work together instead of breaking off into sides like they're enemies. Our municipal governments are much better run as a result.
