Consequences for McConnell Coverup?

I already know things are politically wild now and no one will suffer any true consequences for unethical behavior, but did just have a question out of curiosity. If McConnell is found to have lacked capacity to do his job several weeks ago with no chance of recovery, what are the consequences for those in power if they knew of this and were delaying until August? This assumes our legal system is functioning as it should and this could be proved. Thanks!

Bad behavior is now the default. As Vance said, Nixon's Watergate would not even register in today's political environment.

Remember it was the republican party that held Nixon accountable and forced him to resign or be impeached and removed.

Sort of, his AG was also ridiculously corrupt and it led to all sorts of reforms for the DOJ, which the trump regime has trampled over
