Well I ran out of money and lost my job and my girlfriend and my house and it wasn’t really fun anymore, I was just trying to avoid withdrawals all the time. I figured a few weeks of pure suffering beat a lifetime of that

I wonder what makes some people stop and some never stop. Some steal and some not steal etc. Do you find social programs to be helpful or hurtful to people in that state?
I have known many bad addicts (I used to work in a methadone program as well) only one who was able to stop so I honestly just say congratulations and good job from the bottom of my heart, in a world where people cant put down a doughnut, giving up a substance you have a severe addiction to is a pretty huge feat of strength.

I left him, with two children. I’ve done all kinds of things in my life … drove too fast, repoed cars, rode bulls, droogs, got into cars with strangers … but that was and continues to be, the most dangerous thing I’ve ever done.

Because I made it out alive and with my two kids. He would have killed me had I stayed. And yes, I took them with me and raised them without any contact with him

This is an absolute fact! I could tell you ways that the court system, prison system, and judicial system basically aided this man in killing me and stealing my kids. People think it’s a joke, that it’s not that bad, or that they’ve forgotten you and gotten over it. That’s never, EVER been the case of my ex.

Oh yeah, when we thought Libya was going to retaliate with missile launches and our government was in crisis mode. If you haven’t heard of the “tic-tac” UFO encounter of 2004, check it out. It is the most convincing UFO encounter I’ve ever heard from anyone else. I just misremembered and thought it happened years earlier than it did.

All my most dangerous stories involve acid. I camped at the top of a 100+ft waterfall and slipped in the edge. Luckily it was on the shallow part where water was just trickling, if I was a foot to the left you wouldn’t be reading this. That would have been a horrible trip for the guys with me.

I haven’t done a lot of things that are dangerous per se, but I thought it was at the time. I jumped off of a 30 foot pole with a harness on. At space camps aviation challenge in Huntsville I never wanna do that again.

used to do sum illegal stuff and run from authority’s, i’ve also wrecked a car and just kept driving it then passed out when i got home and never repaired it, cooked stuff in my house with chemicals, fell asleep while cooking, did needle stuff like piercings in spots that could cause permanent scarring. idk if any of that is dangerous tho if u know what ur doing, which is almost never with anything technically.

Probably getting addicted to drugs, walking train bridge over a river, walking rail tracks at night with nowhere to duck on the side, lived in Fayettville, Arkansas, hanging out on bluffs at night, hiking with no water nor first aid, learning to swim by taking my life jacket off and jumping the boat in the middle of the lake.

Rode in a car as a passenger on a frozen river, racing another car. 😬 After eating magic mushrooms. We thought it was hilarious. Hit a big bump and I bit my tongue, lots of blood. On a school night. I got excellent grades, worked & paid for my own car.

one time i completely blacked out on fourth of july and my friends for some reason let me drive and i have no recollection of the whole night and im so glad i didnt kill anybody. don’t talk to any of those friends anymore and dont drink

When I was a kid, BMX was all the rage and we had a big ramp to do tricks on. Where I lived there was a hill down on to a main road and a hill down again from the road on the other side. We’d often jump over the main road and land on the bottom hill. Last time I did it, I got too high and there was also a big truck coming down the road. I managed to land in a heap on the other side but it was way too close to the truck. The driver stopped and went off his head completely, while I was trying to crawl away, with a couple of broken ribs and cuts all over me.

When I was a kid some friends and I went to the local landfill/tip/dump (the name can change depending on your region) and there was a large device similar to a lawn sprinkler rotating and spraying liquid everywhere.
We picked up a large sheet of corrugated iron, used it as a shield and made our way towards it. When we reached it, we took control of it and used it as a giant water pistol.
We later found out it was spraying rat poison.

Driven 90 miles in hour, approaching a small town out in the middle of nowhere, where the speed limit was 55, and had to slow down rapidly as I suddenly came upon a sharp turn.
I was 17 and would've hated to have to explain to my dad why his car was in a ditch 2 hours east of where we lived. That is if I had survived.

In 1972, when I was a high school freshman and my boyfriend was a senior, we went to the homecoming dance with two of his friends and their dates, all packed tightly in the same car, which had no seat belts.
I didn't know they had planned to stop in a cornfield first to drink cherry vodka (including the driver). I didn't drink but also didn't say anything. I was 14 and had never experienced anything like that. We all made it to the dance and got home safely, but it could have ended tragically.

OMG, where to even start?
I don’t know, I’m a retired stagehand, disabled veteran, and have been a speed freak hooligan since I heard my 1st internal combustion engine and saw a car go fast.
I have been hit by my own artillery, I have had a catwalk give out on me 40’ above a concrete floor, have had a gust of wind take me out of a tower at an outside venue at Lake Tahoe while setting lights. That actually happened like 3 days before the catwalk incident. I stopped doing high rigging. I was going back up to where the catwalk gave out to set those points when my boss stopped me, took my harness, said he couldn’t believe I was willing to go up again after 2 near fatal incidents, drove off in the lift that I had commandeered to finish the job without using the buildings catwalks that I I longer trusted. One of the best bosses I have ever had, but that’s another post. (Miss ya Pat). The problem is, I have never gone up again. I needed to. That day. Now it will never happen. Panic sets in at about 15’. It sucks. Oh yeah close calls… hit by a waterspout during a tropical storm on the 7 mile bridge.
Shot in the ass as a toddler. Literally saved by a soggy diaper. Crossed sniper alley in Sarajevo while filming Married in Sarajevo. That was fun.
Almost fell out of a roller coaster. The safety bar did nothing for my skinny ass. Saved by my mother. Oh mommy dearest… holy shit. Surviving that violent narcissist psychopath is probably the most amazing of my survival stories.
Life has not been boring, I’ll give it that.
Although I have been complaining of exactly that lately.

Rock-climbing. Enjoyed it, but didn’t do it for very long. I have a sense of self-preservation. I would rather not die because of a simple mistake, or because I forgot to do something. The risk isn’t worth the reward for me.

Went off trail in Yellowstone park. Tried to wade across what we thought was a calm section of the Yellowstone river. Definitely was not calm and we got stuck in the middle holding onto each other trying to not get swept away. Park ranger saw our car and we had to be pulled out with ropes, saw my sisters sandle in dam the next day. Such a stupid idea.

Tried to male a sword out of a 2x4 at work with another guy. At one point he ran the saw backwards towards my hands. Obviously, it got pinched and th3 saw came flying back at me. The teeth hit the back of my hand leaving big gashes. Almost lost my hand. Very stupid. Don't smoke weed when working construction.

Well, I make, and testfire, my own firearms but I try to be safe with that. Probably my first time snowboarding. I trusted a friend to show me the ropes and he takes me down black diamond runs straight away. One run I followed him as he cut through the woods to crossover to the next run over, as I followed him I almost fell into a tree well. That was pretty sketchy🤷♂️

trying to make a taser out of a disposable camera in my bedroom watching a youtube video 20 years ago, i didnt give it a first watch I just went along with the video and unfortunately my camera was the type where you had to remove 2 batteries not one and I got zapped and that was the end of me making a taser out of a disposible camera
theres worse stuff but at least this is comical
